did you guys catch the peice on Delvar Barrett on the Sunday night Sports Center? Very touching story, great to see another side of college sports and players, especially after the reports the last few days. Very touching story and sounds like one hell of a classy guy

That was certainly quite a touching story, particularly in light of all the negative publicity that has surfaced lately involving selfish, "me-first" athletes (not to mention coaches), all of which has become far too common today....Delvar not only has a huge heart and obviously has his priorities in order but apparently he is also a decent player as he contributed 10 points in Ohio University's victory over Virginia last week (yes, a MAC team really DID defeat an ACC opponent).

The only disappointing part of the story (along with his mother's battle with diabetes leading to her recent blindness, of course) was the NCAA restrictions forcing Barrett to return all the contributions that he and Ohio U have received from well-intentioned fans, who were simply trying to help out Delvar and his mother....that was definitely one of the most moving stories surrounding college athletics that I've seen in quite some time.
