Full Version: Peter Forsberg's career over?
Outsports Discussion Board > Outsports > Hockey
Joe in Philly
He's been playing in Sweden and in his first game back after missing 6 weeks due to a broken bone in his hand, was crosschecked into the boards and suffered a concussion. His father, who coaches the team, says it might be enough to end his career since he's had concussions in the past.

Remember that, following a previous concussion, Foppa's mother said she didn't want him to return to the ice. Peter Forsberg has not had the best of luck in this go-round in Sweden: first, a broken hand kept him away from the game for six weeks and now a concussion. He's becoming the Eric Lindros of the Swedish League! biggrin.gif

In other career-ending news from Sweden, Tommy Salo has announced his retirement from hockey. Like Foppa, he had been playing for MoDo this year. Salo cited his lack of motivation and hip problems as the reasons for his retirement.

More circumstantial evidence Foppa's career will soon be over: he's going to skip the world championships in Austria because of his injuries.

Maybe he's just being cautious but it seems everyone around him (parents and the rest of his family) are saying hang 'em up....and they're saying it in Swedish! wink
