How can you say "no" to someone this cute:

Vote early. Vote often. Vote Vidro
Your Les Expos Party candidate for NL All-Star second baseman.
Go the MLB.COM to cast your All-Star voteAnd vote the straight Les Expos party ticket (Twinks in the AL).

I agree. I'm casting all my remaining votes (35 or so, if I have time to do 'em all) for Jose. Even as a Mets fan, I can't in good conscience vote for Alomar. (Junior Spivey may be having as good a season as Vidro, but he hasn't done it for as long, and is unelectable.)
I'd also recommend voting for Mike Lowell of Florida at NL 3B over the undeserving Scott Rolen. There's not much point in going all-Expo in the OF, as Bonds-Sosa-Guerrero have an invulnerable lead. I do think voting for any Twins and Expos who aren't in the top 5 at their position is kind of a waste... it's a shame this campaign wasn't better organized.
It'd be nice to see Hunter and Jones join Ichiro in the AL OF, and an avalanche of Pierczynski votes topple Posada?

Here's the current vote foe NL second baseman according to ESPN.com:
1. Roberto Alomar, New York, 568,838
2. Jose Vidro, Montreal, 551,013
Almost 18,000 votes to make up. This margin can be made up easily.
Vlad will also start. As for the Twins, they're only going to get Hunter. But Jones is deserving as well.

Jacques Jones is having a fine year... but he's NOT one of the 3 best OFs in the AL (that would be Ichiro, Bernie and either Damon, Torii, or Konerko). But this isn't about deserving. It's about getting at least one Twin or Expo who DOESN'T belong as a starter to make a point to Beelzebud.

Oh I agree Jones probably doesn't deserve to start, but he deserves an spot on the roster. Right now he's down around 11th in the voting. He surely should be higher. And thanks to the "Every Team Must Get an Invite" policy, too many deserving players get left off.
Reminds of a Simpsons episode where Bart is looking at Lisa's trophy collection-Best Student, First Place Jazz Contest, and so on. Then he looks at his and all he has is a trophy from "Everybody Gets a Trophy Day".

Just a few hours left to vote. Only NL second base still seems to be a race, so hopefully enough people will go and vote Vidro ahead of the thoroughly undeserving Alomar.

Vidro and Vlad both voted into the starting line-up. Deux Expos. Thank you thank you thank you.

Did Vidro win by a small margin? I voted a few times on the last day, maybe my votes made the difference. It's been a long time since there were two Expos in the starting lineup.

Last time there were two Expos starters was in '84 - Gary Carter and Charlie Lea.
Felicitations, José and Vladi.

Vote results from ESPN.com:
1. Jose Vidro, Montreal, 1,106,097
2. Roberto Alomar, New York, 1,064,644
3. Luis Castillo, Florida, 554,992
4. Craig Biggio, Houston, 474,509
5. Jeff Kent, San Francisco, 456,510
It may be sad to see the candidate from the Home Team lose, but he's not deserving this year. So one more shot of the winning candidate:

Sorry guys, but if the poll is supposed to be for attractiveness (as opposed to skill on the field) I'll stick with my Moms Mabley blow-up-doll, thank you .....

I still think the Twins-Expos stuffing was a failure... the three who made it are all plausible winners on their merits (even though I think Kent or Vidro, Andruw Jones, and Damon or Bernie W are arguably better choices than Vidro, Vlad and Torii).
Of the 16 starters who were elected, I think A-Rod is easily the hottest, with Bonds and Piazza trailing... Among the reserves and pitchers, I'm rooting for many closeups of Barry Zito and Shawn Green.

Actually I'd be 'hard'-pressed, in the sense that although I love the game I've found very few baseballers who fit my "archetype".
If you lok at my answer to the "lips" etc. thread in Hot Jock Talk, most of my choices are 6'2 or taller, lean-muscular proportioned, clean shaven and in that 20-25 age range.
There are exceptions of course, but many in baseball are shorter, stockier, wear (IMHO I know) hideous facial hair and otherwise fall out of my 'type'.
Funny thing is, this has ALWAYS been my 'type' from my own preteen years (when I was first aware of my orientation), to the time I was in the 'target' age group, even up until 2002 - as I have gotten older my 'type' never has really altered.....
PS - the "Brees Attraction" thing is an abberation, he being 5 feet 11 7/10ths inches tall - maybe I have a birthmark fetish

As for the poll, I like Helton and Piazza. I'd have to drop the others and add any of the following: Barry Zito, Richie Sexson, Robin Ventura, Derrick Lowe, Mike Lowell, Mike Sweeney, Paul Konerko and/or Johnny Damon.
Hey George-
I'm way with you on
Helton- he makes my mouth
water. I'd have to axe
Piazza, in favor of
scrumptious Shea Hillenbrand.
He had a fresh haircut for
the Braves series and looked
hotter than ever.
Speaking of hotties-too
bad your boy Doug M. got
nosed out at first base. I
like Thome and Olerud,but for
some reason Mientkiewicz just
oozes sex appeal.
