I've seen Raley's Field, not for a game but I got a few photos passing thru Sac-town in 2/04. Nice place, but stuck in a strange part of town I noticed.

All of the current baseball only retro parks can point to Buffalo as being the one that started it all when Dunn Tire(tka as Pilot Field) opened up in 1988. It was built with 21k seats but capacity could be expanded to about 40k if the major leagues came to town. They didn't and never will. The park has a retro look on the exterior of the park for the most part to help it fit in with other buildings near its downtown location where many such edifices were constructed roughly a century ago.

The Indians(parent club) got prospects Kelly Shoppach and Andy Marte in the Coco Crisp deal...they should be in Bison jerseys during the coming season.

Well, you guys ran into a locked and loaded Canadian tonight. Harden was on his game: 9k's in 6IP. Can't wait for the season to begin!

Btw, you know Juan Cruz got traded to the D-backs? He was a strikeout machine that'll be missed in Sacto. A healthy Dan Meyer should make up for his loss.

before over 13950 fans the cats lost to the parent club A'S it rained in the 4th inning
generally through out the whole came but my partner who i didn't know wanted to go went with
me to see a phenominal event a triple play.
it started in the 7th inning former standford star Danny Putman made a diving catch in left field on line drive by Antonio Perez, Fred Bynum and Marco Scutaro were easily picked off in 7-4-3 triple play. Other wise rich Harden kept us in check for the six inning. RiverCats didn't score until 4th inning when Charles Thomas doubled and scored on single by last yrs hero Matt Watson.

The question now what happens to Fred Bynum there is chance he could be sent to Sac or A's or another but not likely to Sac

Next report will tell who stays and who goes where in Sac.

Was reading that West Sacramento's mayor recently announced that he is gay (and will be profiled for a program on Logo-TV)... and that he was involved in bringing the Rivercats team to Sacramento. Sac Bee article.

April 7, 2006 - The Sacramento River Cats fell to the Portland Beavers on Opening Day, 6-4, at PGE Park in Portland. The River Cats led the game, 4-2, entering the 8th inning when former River Cats Jack Cust’s 2-run blast tied the score and, three batters later, Jason Hill’s RBI single gave the Beavers a lead they would never relinquish. Sacramento spoiled a solid Opening Day performance by starting pitcher Chad Gaudin, who tossed 5.0 innings of shutout ball, allowing only 4 baserunners (2 hits and 2 walks) while striking out 5. Matt Watson (1-for-3, HR, 2 RBI) led the Cats’ balanced offense; all but one batter in the line-up reached base at least one time (Charles Thomas). A lack of clutch hitting did in the River Cats, as the team sstranded 14 baserunners in the loss.
