Here we go again. Bug Sleaz-ig has announced that he and the owners will not lock out the players during the season or post-season, but pointed left out the period immediately following the 2002 World Series. Supposedly he finds the NBA's late 1990s 3-lockouts in 4-years plan to be a useful guide. HAS THIS IDIOT LEARNED NOTHING from the outrage among fans at the planned "contraction"? How much longer is Congress going to let these buffoons keep their anti-trust exemption? I love my Cardinals and Yankees, but I swear, if they put me through this nonsense, I'll do just as I have with the NBA, and tune out. I've never really been a strong NBA fan since the last lockout, and given the 1981 and 1994 strikes, which SERIOUSLY damaged baseball, no amount of future Mark McGwires, Pedro Martinezes, Roger Clemenses, and other stars is going to bring me back.

Also, I hope the fans in St. Louis and the rural Missouri legislators say no to the billionaire Cardinals owners in their quest for a tax-payer funded stadium. If they have over $4 billion in assets, follow the Giants' plan and privately finance the stadium. Or sell the team to the Kroenkes and Lawries, who are WalMart heirs and can afford to do whatever they want.

One small result of this strategy by Bud Fright is that his precious Miller Field All-Star game will NOT be subject to cancellation (notwithstanding a potential player's boycott)........
Herr Tiggee
This is just further proof that Congress should reverse the anti-trust exemption this sport enjoys. The NBA and NFL are operating with profit, and don't seem to be caught up in all the preferential treatment enjoyed by MLB owners.
When is all this maddness gonna end?
