Full Version: Yashin injury

During last night's game, Alexei Yashin was injured when a skate "lacerated his forearm," (according to the Associated Press. The story further quotes an unnamed teammate: "The injury is real gruesome." I am always surprised there aren't more of these types of injuries in the game.

Yashin had fallen after getting bumped and losing his balance. On the way down his face hit the Flyer player's elbow, then as he was on the ice the Flyer's skate caught his arm.

I heard he's out 10-12 weeks. He had surgery today. Some tendons were torn, I think. He is expected to recover fully, though.
