So, since Bank of America purchased Fleet Bank for $47 billion, does this mean that the Fleet Center will now be known as Bank of America Center in Boston? They changed names in Philadelphia from Core States Center to the First Union Center when that purchase occurred.

More than likely my friend, there will be a name change I expect.

Hey they can call it Joe Schmo Center! tongue.gif

And they changed it again to the Wachovia Center. First Union bought the smaller Wachovia Bank, but dropped the FU name because it became synonymous with horrible customer service. wink

So what exactly is the name of the Flyers and Sixers arena in Philadelphia as of this moment?
Joe in Philly
It's still the Wachovia Center--that change just happened at the end of the summer. Kinda sad...everyone misses calling it the F.U. Center. Based on its pronunciation, it could be called The Wack, but it's not the same. biggrin.gif

How about naming it "the Boston Garden"?
Cattledog
As long as Madison Square Garden remains "Madison Square Garden", I am happy.

The former Fleet Center will be re-named the TD Banknorth Garden.

Interesting that TD (ie. Toronto-Dominion) will have 2 American arenas bearing it's name (the TD Waterhouse Center in Orlando being the other), but no major arenas (to my knowledge) in its home country of Canada.

Canada's Royal Bank also has it's name on the arena in Raleigh (RBC Center) where the Hurricanes play.
