Espn is reporting the the NY Islanders will hire Niel Smith and Ted Nolan as their GM and Coach.
I like Nolan as a coach and he's been on the blacklist for far to long, so it's good to see him come back to the NHL and showcase his talents.
Smith as a GM? Hello Milbury, have you not seen first hand what a complete ass this guy is as a GM? Need I remind you off all the dumb trades he's made over the course of his tenure with the NY Rangers? The guy can't even remember hockey players names for a TV job, how is he possibly going to help your team win a stanley cup? How he got the rangers a cup in 94 is anyone's guess.
I find it completely shocking to even see his name in consideration as a GM, based on what he did to the Rangers. To even think the new owners of my Ducks considered him was enough to make me sick for a few days, until they announced Burke as GM.
