Actually, it's "Bucci;" that's how he signs his e-mail. If he's let go by ESPN since they're going to be cutting back on hockey coverage, I'll have to cultivate another e-mail pal/stalker--with my luck I'll get Melrose! eek!

I'm looking at a Yahoo page with the games listed. It shows all 7 West games on ESPN. For the East, games 1 and 4 are Saturday ABC games, games 2 and 3 are ESPN games, and games 5 through 7 (if needed) are ESPN2 -- even though the two series are on alternate days! Looking at the same playoff pages on ESPN.com they don't list at all where some of the games are televised.
For our Canadian viewers: the entire West series is shown on CBC, while the East is split between CBC (games 2,3,5), TSN (1,4,6) and RDS (7th game).

Cool!!! Thanks Adam. I noted you said you heard ratings were up for NHL Tonite? Wonder how they are doing for the games televised..

puckman: I don't know about national ratings for the playoffs, but in LA, they have been down over 15% from last year--according to the LA Daily News--but last year, local ratings were "artificially boosted" (their phrase) because the Ducks made the finals.

Thanks for the info as usual, Adam. Anybody else going through hockey withdrawl these past several days?? Some of the symptoms include restlesness, blurred vision, occasional irritability. For crying out loud, I miss my hockey.

Thank Allah, I only have one more day to wait for.

puckman, I'm with you; last night I actually wondered what I was going to do after walking the dogs without a hockey game to watch. I've blamed the headache I've had all day on hockey withdrawal...

So glad I am not alone Adam. Do you get the Tampa game tomorrow too? I assume thats what we are all seeing. Can't wait!

No more regional coverage. It's one game per day, except for each game 3 on Thursday, but their start times are different. I still don't get why games 5-7 of the East series are on ESPN2 and not ESPN. Hope it's a (Flyers) sweep for your sake, puckman!

Joe in Philly already mentioned the games on ESPN2, but since Buccigross e-mailed it to me today, here is the schedule for the next 10 days:
ESPN
May 16 4pm (edt) San Jose/Calgary
May 17 10pm (edt) San Jose/Calgary*
May 19 9pm (edt) San Jose/Calgary*
May 21 9pm (edt) San Jose/Calgary*
ESPN2--sorry puckman...come down to LA; there's a tv with the games waiting for you
May 18 7:30pm (edt) Philadelphia/Tampa Bay
May 20 7:30pm (edt) Philadelphia/Tampa Bay*
May 22 7:00pm (edt) Philadelphia/Tampa Bay*
In addition to the listing, Buccigross asks us "to hang with NHL2Night" for the rest of the post-season as "the gang" selects the top 100 NHL players of all time.

I looked at ESPN's schedule page. There's a chance that games 5 and 6 might end up on ESPN after all, depending on the NBA playoffs. On the 18th they have an NBA game, Indiana-Miami game 6 if necessary. Indiana leads the series 2-1 and there are no other games that night so if the Pacers win in 5 there's no reason not to move the hockey game to the big network.
On the 20th they would show game 7s of Indiana-Miami and New Jersey-Detroit, with that series being tied at 2-2. So whoever wins game 5 must also win game 6. (Unfortunately both are East series. If only one series had a 7th game and it was a West series, they could then justify showing the NHL game at 7 ET and the NBA game at 10 ET.)
To sum up: GO PACERS! GO NETS-PISTONS GAME 5 WINNER! wink

Pacers, you bleepin' bleepbleepers! wink They lost tonight so the series is tied at 2. So the game 6 will be played, so the Flyers-Lightning game 5 is stuck on ESPN2. Sorry puckman!
And I forgot to mention that the night of the Flyers-Lightning potential game 7 ESPN is scheduled to show game 1 of an NBA conference final, so that game will definitely be stuck on ESPN2 as well. The only hope (unless the NHL ends in 5) is for there to be no NBA game 7's.
