Does anyone around me (Connecticut, NYC) get College Sports Television? Friday night hockey features my favorite Cornell Big Red against the evil Hah-vahd Crimson (THEY SUCK).

I would pay you to see this game!! Somebody hook me up with college hockey tonight please!!!!!! biggrin.gif

BPT336 -- isn't the Cornell-Harvard game the one where Ali McGraw goes to watch Ryan O'Neil playin "Love Story"?? Great rivalry!

Good luck in finding somewhere to watch the game. I've been resigned to listening to college hockey over internet radio the past few seasons.

Famous Cornell graduates, NHL's Commissioner Gary Bettman, Toronto Maple Leafs' Joe Nieuwendyk, and (gasp!) Dr. Joyce Brothers (whom Homer Simpson says in the episode where the blue crayon is removed from his brain--"whose credentials are highly suspect") may agree with your Big Red loyalty there.

You know what they say: "If it isn't happening in Ithaca, it isn't happening anywhere!".

You Bitch!!! tongue.gif

Yeah and the Cornell Band plays the theme from Love Story whenever Hah-vahd takes the ice. It's brings both a tear to the eye, and a psychotic delusion that I am Ray Milland.... eek! biggrin.gif

Don't forget Ken Dryden, Janet Reno or Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

As Comcast has taken hold they've put their own station, CN8, into their cable lineup and done local news, sports, and other stuff. It started just in Phila. but now there's a CN8 in a lot of other cities in the east as well. I'm not sure if they all have the same programming in every city or if they just have local versions of things such as the nightly newscasts. (Their all-sports channels, called Comcast Sportsnet, feature entirely separate local sports in Phila. and in the Baltimore/DC area, and coming soon to Chicago.)

Anyway, when switching channels here last Saturday night I noticed that the CN8 station here was showing a game between Boston College and Northeastern. In the weekend TV sports listings they have a game tomorrow at 7 pm on CN8: St. Lawrence at Yale.

So if Comcast is your cable company and they have a CN8 in your area, check it out.

Joe, Comcast isn't my cable provider. But anyone with Direct TV can have my mind, and my body tonight. It's Channel 610 there. biggrin.gif

LETS GO RED!!!!!!

My pal, Judge, who also is a CU grad, sent me a copy of the Lynah Faithful stuff to read a year or so back. We talk hockey every week to compare notes on our respective teams' woes and wins. Our respective spouse/partners roll their eyes, but hey, unless you've been bitten by the hockey bug, ya wouldn't understand.......

Go Maine.

Now, about College Sports TV. I have written, called, and emailed the cable company about getting the damned thing, but no response, whatsoever. I have seen one game with the SCTV feed locally, though. Oddly enough, it was converage of a Cal basketball game, at home in Haas Pavilion. The announcers did a reasonably good job, too. Damn, I wish I could see college hockey on the tube. I am able to sate my passion a bit each week via live feeds over the Internet. Not the same, but I'll take it, for now! smile.gif
