You get the feeling that a possible Detroit headline come end of May could be: "Wings win Stanley Cup; Tigers 0-36."

It looks that way, doesn't it??

You've got that one right, Philly. They have to take the win on Sunday and Tuesday to take the series.
They have taken an 0-2 playoffs series before and turned it around.

They may have rallied from 0-2 deficits before, but they're much older now.

The "they're getting older" in reference to the Wings doesn't hold crap with me.
One of the hottest players in the league is Chris Chelios. He's 40 and is the league's plus/minus leader. I do believe that Yzerman reaffirmed his position as the Hockeytown Stud on the hot goal he made against the Canucks at GM Place Sunday night (Could it be that the "pumped full of geritol" Wings are taking the series? You bet your ass!).
They do have experience on their side and play smart.
I was beginning to believe last season that maybe the heyday was over. I mean, look what happened to Detroit in the quarterfinals against the Kings last playoff season. The Wings got their hands on some fresh rookie meat this season, and that's providing a good mix to go with the veterans.
The fat lady ain't sung yet!

well I see where the Wings snapped out of it yesterday and beat the Cancuks 3-1. This series looks like it will be a (no) home ice advantage series. They are just to talented to roll over and play dead.

Sunday night's game was the first time in this series that the Wings played well. (Compare that with the LA Kings, who have been playing good hockey, just not good enough to defeat the Avs--yet.) Maybe because the Wings had been able to coast into the playoffs for so long during the season, they needed a couple of games to get back in high gear.

Marty Wright, from Hockeytown Central, has written for us
on why the Wings will still win the Cup. Fire away.

Being on top of the league all season long could be interpreted as "too much of a good thing."
They broke 100 points a good month before any other team in the league did.
After having obtained it all, was there anything left to play for?
Bowman's intention with giving players time off the ice was good. In the last two weeks of season play while the rest of the league was out kicking each other's asses, the Wings were having a time relaxing at their own country club.
Consider this, though: It took all season long for the other seeds to get tough for the playoffs. The Wings, so far, have done it in three games with the Canucks.

I'm still not convinced. Until they actually win the Cup, I won't be convinced.

Looks like Detroit is finally piling it on over the Canucks. Looks like the Wings of old.
