Recordings of jailhouse phone conversations obtained by the fifth estate are among the many new disturbing details revealed in the saga of Danton and his longtime agent and former coach Frost.

At the end of the conversation, Frost asks, \"OK, you love me?\" \"Yeah,\" Danton says.

\"Say it,\" Frost demands.

\"I love you.\"

The Jeffersons reveal for the first time how their then-13-year-old son Tom was allegedly victimized while on a cottage trip with Frost, Danton and other teens.

On that trip, they say their son was photographed duct-taped to a bed naked.

They also allege during the same trip that members of the group forced Tom to eat pancakes that had been spit on and climb a tree while a pellet gun was pointed at him.

CBC's program The Fifth Estate will do a report on the Mike Danton affair tomorrow at 9PM eastern time. It apparently has previously unreleased info but I'm sure that it will raise more questions than it answers.

I can't help but feel that justice has not been served in this case and that Danton is still being victimized by Frost.

There's a link on the CBC site where you can watch the report. I'm going to wait until the next time I get to my desktop PC instead of my laptop -- probably when I next do laundry wink -- since the speakers are much better on my main PC.

I can't believe the prison officials can't keep Frost from having contact with Danton. There must be more they can do. I can't imagine what bizarre story Frost has to explain everything that can't be told until after Danton is transferred to Canada. If I had my way, he'd serve his full sentence in the USA.

“I know my Dad got a hold of Frost's number and was leaving him phone messages every once in a while,” Tom Jefferson said. “He wasn't threatening him physically or anything, just leaving random messages saying things like, you know, his time is going to come, and he should be ashamed of himself for what he's done, that kind of thing.”

Frost, whose status as an accredited agent is being reviewed by the NHL players' association, scoffed at public speculation about the meaning of his demand that Danton say \"I love you.\"

\"Mike is like a son to me and my wife,'' Frost said. \"We were told to keep him strong and that's what I was trying to do,\" Frost said. \"Mike and I chuckle about people's curiosity over our relationship,\" he added.

When former St. Louis Blues player Mike Danton sat in a California jail last year, he had 79 phone conversations with his agent and intended murder-for-hire target, David Frost.

Danton engaged in a plot to have Frost killed because Frost tried to force Danton to address substance abuse and other self-destructive behaviors before they destroyed his career, according to a lawsuit filed by Danton last month.

But in the tapes made days after Danton's April 15, 2004, arrest in San Jose, Calif., Danton said he didn't use drugs and hadn't had a drink in more than a month. The discussions with Frost were peppered with talk of trips to metro-east strip clubs, sending stick boys up into the stands to find girls and sexual romps with as many as three women at a time.

Frost told Danton in one of the calls that if he agreed to counseling, his time in custody would be easier -- allowing him to have a private room and even a computer.

\"Of course, you will be in counseling, so you can't go on porno sites or anything,\" Frost said.

\"I was never on porno sites,\" Danton said.

\"I know you weren't,\" Frost chuckled. \"You didn't need to. You had pornos live in your own house.\"

The FBI released about 40 minutes of the 1,000 recorded minutes of 79 phone calls between Danton and Frost taped during the 12 days Danton spent in California awaiting extradition to Illinois.

Frost told Danton that federal agents told him that other Blues players expressed concern Danton was jeopardizing the quality of his play with his womanizing.

\"He told them that you were more worried about the stands than the game,\" Frost told Danton in a call.

Frost also talked about the nightmare Danton had the night he scored his first playoff goal against the San Jose Sharks, including details that Danton was soaked with sweat and dreamed Steve Jefferson, Danton's father, was in his room holding a gun to his head.

\"(The resignation) is not because I'm up against anything,\" Frost said. \"I did it a year ago anyway, and that's the only comment I have. Ask the PA. They'll tell you.\"

Not true, the NHLPA said.

\"Frost's status up until yesterday was he was certified,\" Ian Penny, NHLPA associate counsel, said in a statement.

Frost tendered his letter of resignation Monday afternoon.

A 'father figure': Ex-NHLer blames family for troubles

OTTAWA - In the first statement since he was sentenced to seven and a half years in a U.S. prison for plotting to kill his agent, NHL player Mike Danton has detailed a troubling childhood with his biological family and revealed suicidal tendencies he felt immediately after his arrest.

In a 36-page, handwritten statement to the Ottawa Citizen this week, Danton documented childhood scenes that drove him to a surrogate family headed by agent David Frost and his wife, Bridget, the daughter of the late, legendary NHL referee John McCauley.

He hates his biological family so much that he legally changed his surname four years ago from Jefferson to Danton, the last name of a boy he met at a hockey school.

His statement is essentially a public document explaining why he has disowned his biological family.

\"Not once was I ever read a book at night and I can't remember ever receiving a hug or kiss.\"

David Frost, the ex-NHL agent of St. Louis Blues player Mike Danton who was involved in a murder-for-hire plot, was arrested on Friday for allegedly buying gas with Danton's credit card, according to published reports.

The young woman also told court that one time after she and her boyfriend tried a new sexual position in a hotel, where Frost and several of the players were living, Frost came in and offered to help them try another.

"I didn't want him to," she told the court. "I was, I guess, shocked."

Visibly upset, she described how during the first threesome her boyfriend had sex with her first, while Frost was lying underneath her, asking her how she liked it. She said her boyfriend then helped her on top of Frost so she could have sex with him.

"I didn't really know a lot about sex," she said.

The reference to a third testicle -- or something that looked like it -- shocked the courtroom this morning, dropped into cross-examination by defence lawyer Marie Henein. There has been no evidence that Frost actually has such a condition.

"A two-inch-by-two-inch-by-two inch plum-sized sac of blood that appears like a third testicle,'' Henein helpfully described it to the 28-year-old Crown witness.

"That's not a tiny mole. A third testicle would be hard to miss.''

The witness responded: "I never saw a third testicle.''

But she noticed early on that he was on a very short leash - he couldn't call her, he told her, without Mr. Frost's permission; he couldn't come over and do homework. As she put it, "He wasn't allowed to do a whole lot. ...It was very clear that he [Mr. Frost] was in control of every action the boys made. Basically, they couldn't go to the bathroom without asking."

She went to the hotel that very night, and after a few minutes, she said Mr. Frost disappeared into a bedroom. Minutes later, as if on cue, her boyfriend said they should go in, too. He directed her to undress, and to lie between the two of them. "I was lying there," she remembered, "naked and shaking."

Frost then got on top of her and asked her boyfriend "to help him," and soon she could feel her boyfriend's hands on Mr. Frost's penis, "playing with it." After Mr. Frost had sex with her, her boyfriend had difficulty getting an erection. Mr. Frost made fun of him, she said, then "grabbed on his [her boyfriend's] penis, saying 'Don't be a wimp.' "

The alleged victim's former girlfriend told court earlier in the week that she and her boyfriend began having sex early in their relationship at a hotel in Deseronto, Ont., where Frost and several players lived. Not long after, she said she was persuaded by her boyfriend to have a threesome with Frost on two occasions, when they were 16 and Frost was 29.

But the man, now 28, said the threesomes his ex-girlfriend described never involved Frost, but instead happened on two occasions with Danton.

The man told court that group sex is common in the hockey world and that he has had sexual encounters involving one girl and as many as five or six other males.

"It's like a bonding thing with your friends or teammates," he said.

After serving less than five years of a 7 1/2-year sentence for plotting to have Frost murdered, transferred from the U.S. to Canada at his request in March, Danton was granted full parole yesterday.

In presenting himself as rehabilitated, Danton, 28, told the board it had never been his intention to have his surrogate father taken out by a rent-a-killer in St. Louis.

Nay, the prey had been his real father, Steve Jefferson.

Former NHL player Mike Danton was granted full parole Friday after telling the National Parole Board the target of his murder-for-hire plot was his father, and not his controversial and oft-scrutinized former agent, David Frost.

As conditions of his release, Danton is to have no direct or indirect contact with his father, Steve Jefferson, and no face-to-face contact with Frost, unless pre-approved by his parole officer.

Danton said he hopes to return to playing hockey.

“Given the opportunity I know I’ll be able to play somewhere, at some level,” he said. Yet Danton admitted the parole board was correct in that it would be impossible to play in the NHL if he can’t leave the country while on parole.
