Full Version: How about a Chatroom?
Outsports Discussion Board > Outsports > About the Board

Overall I like the new software. For some reason my posts come out double-spaced so I have to go back and edit them each time but other than that it's been a smooth transition.

I was wondering...

What would the cost be to include a chatroom? I could see it being useful for Outsports get-togethers like, "Big Games with Gay Play by Play", "Tuesday Night Sports Trivia Nights", "I'm alone on a Saturday Night and Have Had 4 Beers, How Many Have You Had?" etc, etc...

If the license isn't too outrageous I might consider sponsoring it if there is some interest.

What do you guys think? ph34r.gif

So long as the only people allowed are those who are there to talk about sports. Really wouldn't want the chat room clogged with all the political/hot hung unknown country singer/Project Runway stuff that tends to litter the discussion board.

Oh I don't know about that. I bet there are a lot of Outsporters on here who would love to hear MDG's Cha Cha report live next A. I. Season. (With a posted recap after of course) laugh.gif

Besides, most chatroom software has the ability to set up separate rooms so it that would be easy to steer clear of the non-sports topics some might want to avoid.

[size=3][color=#FF0000]Good idea, Maddog. Maybe we can also have a "Dating Game" type chat? tongue.gif Or an "I'm Lonely in this desolate wasteland, and need some masculine companionship" type deal they have on Gay.com? biggrin.gif
Maddog
LOL...well to be honest that wasn't what I had in mind. It seems those kind of chatrooms are available in a lot of places on the Internet. I'm thinking of a place for Trivia and other contests and discussions that give us another outlet for our Outsports camaraderie that doesn't involve the hook-up. smile.gif

How many people even spend much time in chat rooms anymore? I haven't been in one in years and have no desire to do so.

You're probably right. Come to think of it, I haven't been in a chatroom in the last 5 years either...lol. I guess I was trying to find other ways for us Outsporters to have fun in a quicker manner. Instant gratification if you will.

So we have 2 "Outsports.com should be about sports and nothing else" responses and 2 "This sounds like a cool idea" responses.

Anyone else?

I'm pretty much Switzerland about it, would be cool if there is one, but at the same time if not I can live.

I love your watches. Could you lower the prices a bit - maybe a special for Outsporters? wink.gif
