The committee sure loved the Big Ten and The Pac-10 this year!
WSU Cougars
The Pac-10 and Big 10 are representing in the tourney as well. All the selections were valid by the committee. GO COUGS!

Bad news for 10 of the 11 Big Ten teams: Michigan finally fired Tommy Amaker.

This means they'll have the chance to hire someone competent now.

It sure was fun while it lasted.

It's about time. I think Amaker is very classy and come from the great Duke program but he also was put into a tough situation. UM was still on probation for 5/6 of his seasons.

He will probably spend a year or so in purgatory, then resurface at a mid-major and probably do quite well. Was kind of in over his head from day 1 at Michigan.

It will be interesting to see who Michigan gets, there is certainly a lot of untapped potential in that program.

Minnesota's got their man: Tubby Smith

Sorry Bolt I didn't see your post until after I started a Coaching Carousel thread.

Alford leaving Iowa for New Mexico and Smith leaving Kentucky for Minnesota? Seems like guys who couldn't take the heat are getting out of their respective kitchens.

Good move for Tubby -- the Goofs' program can go nowhere but up.

As for Alfraud ... 'bout time.

The heat is on Meechigan now to pick up a big time hire.

The Big 10 coaches now include

2 NCAA champs (Izzo, Smith)
1 runner-up (Weber)
1 Final 4 (Sampson)
2 Elite 8 (Ryan, Matta)

throwin in Painter, who's breathed life into Purdue, and Carmody, who will always have Northwestern being a thorn in the side and there is pressure for the hires at Michigan and Iowa to be very good.
