Why am I not surprised by this? And why am I not surprised that this happened behind the Orange Curtain? I hope they prosecute the responsible parties.
TheOtherFSU
Disgusting but I am never surprised by anything a Republican does.

The part that made me even more mad was the comment towards the end of the article where Scott Baugh, chairman of the Orange County Republican Party, said, "Regardless of who did it, Republican or Democrat, if it's a crime, then whoever did it should be prosecuted," Baugh said.

What an idiot he is! Yes, let's pin this on a Democrat.

So now we know who the culprit(s) are.

The culprit is the Tan Nguyen campaign, a Republican running against Loretta Sanchez, for her congressional seat. I'm amazed that Nguyen is denying it, as others are coming out and saying he authorized this nefarious letter to be sent out.

Personally, I hope his lying, sorry butt lands in prison! mad.gif

And of course Tan Nguyen is himself a (legal) immigrant. rolleyes.gif

Oh but wait, have you seen the new GOP Bin Laden "fear" (VOTE GOP) commercial yet? They bring desperation to unseen levels with this one...pathetic!

Oh, come now, does any of the slop the GOP are slinging these days need to have any truth behind them? Heck no. If you think the GOP needs facts or truth, you are either on drugs, or have been living in a cave for the past decade. The next few weeks should prove to be rather humorous as the Rethugs desperately cling to the hope they have a future in American politics.

I saw last night on the news how vehemently Nguyen said he didn't send the letter, then insisted that sending that letter broke no laws. If that weren't enough, he had the chutzpah to say he was going to beat Congresswoman Sanchez! blink.gif

Somehow I think he's trying not to convince merely the voters in that district, but most especially himself with his own lies. Oh, and yes, sending that letter did violate several laws, particularly those enacted 40 years ago when individuals kept African-Americans from voting. This is something along those lines, only not to that same degree.

Actually, I loved the fact he said (paraphrasing here) "there was no law broken, so why is there a criminal investigation?" Not the brainiest statement from someone who wants to be in Congress. You see, Mr. Nguyen, the police investigate whether there is a crime before arresting someone, unless you fall under Mr. Bush's "I don't like you, so I can send you into a black hole for the rest of your life with no appeal" renunciation of the civil right of habeus corpus.
