Once I watched this, I could never think of the war in Iraq in quite the same terms. Yes, it is disturbing. Yes, it is quite graphic. And yes, it is powerful. Most of all, it serves to reinforce my belief that the Bush Regime is leaving our soldiers to die.

Many on the right are decrying CNN for airing this video. Why? Because it shows the powerlessness of our soldiers in Iraq. That's the big reason why.

Am I the only one that had a lot of trouble getting this video to play? It kept stopping, then starting. I had to give up on it. Also, I was under the impression that a "snuff" film involved sex, then the murder of the person who just had sex...I know, pretty ugly, also illegal. I wonder why the title of this thread involves the word "snuff" film. I don't want to start a war of semantics on this board, I'm just wondering, and possibly misinformed.

The term is also used more generally to describe any film that shows the actual murder of a human being.

Yes, the video is difficult to watch and yes, it is quite horrifying. But it takes away from the romanticism of war (how it still exists I don't know) and that is a good thing. Bringing home the horror members of my generation are facing every day will hopefully drive home the point that this isn't a war, it's a senseless masacre of young lives.

This makes me wonder why the right-wing is putting the squeeze on CNN for airing this tragic video. The horror of war is exposed so graphically in this video. Could they be reacting to this in the wrong way?
