Mr. Uniter, Bill O'Reilly, is on Oprah today I understand. From the trailer, it looks like it gets rather heated. I understand Bill believe there are 2 kinds of people, traditionalists, as he calls them, and another group. Since I don't follow him, I can't remember what he calls this other group. But going to check the show out later, when its on here..

As I recall, he calls the rest of America "SP's" or "secular progressives". I don't mind the progressive part at all. It's better than what I call him, a regressive Neanderthal. tongue.gif

The blowhard is also on Letterman tonight.

I am proud to be an SP. If it bothers the likes of O'Reilly that I happily assume that tag, all the better.

After watching that fiasco today on Oprah, I am absolutely stunned.

Shame on Oprah! Shame on her for sitting there and allowing him to repeat his talking points over and over. And shame on her for allowing obviously planted people sit in that audience and espouse bullshit about how Fox News is the only place to get real news. Are we really supposed to believe that an Oprah audience is normally half male, extremely conservative and pro-war? And are we really supposed to believe that all of the black people in Oprah's audience are pro-war, pro-Bush and big Fox News viewers? Because that's what we got on that show today.

Oprah sat there silent and let him go off the entire time. I kept waiting for her to speak up, but her silence spoke volumes. Shame on her.

It was a very interesting hour for sure. I agree with you. I think Oprah was definitely intimidated. I really do. I also felt like there were some "plants" in the audience, both pro and against him. There was one guy that was railing against him, some guy, remember him? I thought he was great! But, it was interesting hearing him trying to paint the portrait that your either one or the other kind of person, his traditionalist or secular progressive. Like there is no middle ground...period....your either one way or the other.. Sound familiar? "Your either with us or against us." The only area in which I agreed with him was when he said that much of the Iraq problem could be blamed on Bush. And as I recall he said the American people can hold the government responsible/accountable for this mess. The rest was all bullshit. mad.gif Oh, and I also firmly believe that he is contributing to this "culture war" that he says exists, even though he would deny this to the hilt!

It was nice to see that David Letterman had the guts that Oprah didn't in challenging O'Reilly. Letterman took him to task on his over-simplified schtick during an interview Friday night and wouldn't let him get away with all of that sh!t that Oprah did.

At one point, O'Reilly tried to incorrectly characterize Letterman and lied about things Letterman said, to which Dave responded, "You're putting words in my mouth, just the way you put artificial facts in your head."

Too bad Oprah didn't have the guts to call him on his lies.

See the video from the Letterman-O'Reilly exchange here.
