is well under way. In my local Repug. commercials them proclaim: "a vote for Peter Goldmark (Dem) is a vote for "liberal Nancy Pelosi and Charlie Rangel." I am sure, this is going on in your district as well, and in the picture of Nancy in the commercial, they make her look like she just stuck her finger in a light socket or something. Its disgusting. But, the Repugs. are way desperate, so not unexpected. On to victory in just over one week!!!!!! laugh.gif

Demonzing is what the Republicans do when it comes to crunch time. In fact, I see a great disrespect for their own party members when they behave this way. They know that they respond to fear so scare them, terrorize them. Now they're saying that Nancy Pelosi will enact the "radical gay agenda." Which is....?

In some GOP commercials they've linked Pelosi to the "homosexual agenda" and also claimed she and other Democrats supported "NAMBLA," though the last month has given us more than enough proof that the main supporters and enablers of MAN-BOY love are Republicans: Mark Foley, Jim Kolbe, Denny Hastert, Tom Reynolds, Rodney Alexander, John Shimkus, John Boehner, and Hastert's roommate, whatever his name is!

If the Democrats really wanted to be nasty, they could point this out. "Why were the Republicans covering up "man-boy" love? Why won't the tell the truth about not dealing with Mark Foley and Jim Kolbe, and pushing them to run again and again? Why has it taken years for the truth to come out?" And then just show all their faces together, especially Hastert's gigantic mug at the center of the screen. That'll about drive away ANYONE from supporting these creeps.

BTW, I just saw that Menendez is pulling away from Kean Jr. and Claire McCaskill is now a few percentage points ahead of Jim Talent. If Webb can defeat Allen, that would mitigate a possible victory by Lieberman, who very well could caucus with the GOPers he loves so much and defers to. In the House, if the Democrats win, they should follow two orders of business immediately. First, pass as much pro-middle-class, pro-family legislation as possible in the first 100 days, as Pelosi has outlined. Just start introducing the bills in rapid-fire fashion, and don't let up. One should be reversing that horrible Medicare prescription drug legislation, which deserves to be repealed the first week of January if possible. And then, concurrently begin a series of investigations, not of PEOPLE, but of terrible GOP policies. Subpoena, and force people in the White House to testify under oath. Make it public so the people see how corrupt these folks have been.

That will certainly "drain the swamp" as Pelosi has stated.

Oh, and for the most corrupt Democrat, William Jefferson, I'm praying he's defeated, but if not, he probably will be indicted after reelection, so the Louisiana Democrats should have someone CLEAN waiting on the wings to beginning campaigning to claim his seat. If he took all that bribe money as has been alleged, he should go--to jail!

It isn't demonizing when you have the extreme left in Nancy Pelosi. There is a difference. You have the Bush Regime on the far right and Pelosi on the far left. There has to be a comfortable middle in there somewhere.

Pelosi's proposals for the Democrats' first 100 days sound eminently reasonable. How are they or is she "far left"? I mean, just wondering.

She isn't talking about seizing private property. She isn't going to push to defund the military (and historically the far left hasn't had any problem with armies, nuclear weapons, etc.--cf. Lenin, Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, Honecker, etc.). She isn't even going to impeach the damn Fanatic-in-Chief, who was blathering like a Führer today down in Georgia. So how exactly is she "far left"? I keep hearing this, so I'd like someone who alleges it to give some examples.

She's pro-choice. Most Americans are pro-choice. She's pro-tax cuts for middle class people and not for the ultrarich. Most Americans are pro-tax cuts for the middle class and not for the ultrarich. She's for the separation of church and state, as was the case from 1789 to 2000. Most Americans are for the separation of church and state. She's for raising the minimum wage, enacting the 9/11 Commission's findings, allowing the government to negotiate with the pharmaceutical companies rather than empowering the insurance companies and forcing Americans to pay the highest prices in the world for prescription drugs. Most Americans agree with these beliefs. So are most Americans "far left"?

You know who is far left? Bernie Sanders is far left.
