Even way down here in New Zealand I am excited by the start of a new NCAA basketball season. But I must confess, it's not that easy to keep up. Does anyone know of game broadcasts on the internet that are free? There are a handful on Yahoo, but it sure isn't what it was like a couple of years ago when I could spend my whole Sunday listening to bball. Are there any other sources, such as those on local radio stations that broadcast on the internet all the time?

Also, any suggestions about unmissable blogs or forums(besides this one, of course)?

I listen to Wisconsin and Marquette games using Yahoo -- but I have to admit that I'm not certain if I pay for that or not (I think when I signed up for the services I paid)

You might try going directly to the website of some of the schools you follow. For example, Wisconsin has a "Game Day" page where you can listen to their home games. No doubt other schools have the same.

As for blogs, if you want to follow the Best League in the Land --i.e., the Big Ten -- this is a great blog: Big Ten Wonk. The blogger also links to a bunch of blogs covering each team.

(btw -- we Wisconsin fans fondly remember our own Kiwi Kirk Penney)

As for the Big East -- this terrific Marquette blog -- Cracked Sidewalks -- too has links to all the Big East schools.

Deadspin is a fun sports blog overall, and they love talking about college basketball (especially Illinois smile.gif ).

And I second Bucky's recommendation on the Wonk. Great blog.

Thanks Bucky. That Wisconsin link looks great. I'll check it out.

I remember seeing a photograph of him being carried off court by fans and I thought: How many NZers would ever experience anything like THAT.

Illini - I check out Deadspin too.

Thanks
