Michigan State fired coach John L Smith today, altho he's finishing out the season, which doesn't make too much sense. His tenure was filled with blown big leads, and seemingly no control over the team or himself. Good riddence.
Lots of rumours out there as to who will replace him. The popular vote goes to Butch Davis, but MSU has a history of not wanting to pay for top coaches....They've totally blown the past two choices, so we'll see if they can get it right this time....

so that's UNC and Michigan State that need coaches

Butch Davis now appears to be out of the picture, as he has all but signed with UNC....
I wonder if it would be too much to ask of Michigan State to actually hire someone with major college success in the past instead of this bargain basement crap we've been hiring over the years.....Gawd our football program pisses me off!
