Apparently, Coulter is not cooperating with investigators (big surprise!) and could potentially face up to 5 years in prison for a possible felony.

I hope they throw the book at her, put her in a dark, damp cell for years and years and years, until she is so old and wrinkled she can do no more harm. Wait, she is already looking pretty haggard and long in the tooth, so let's focus on the dark, damp cell. What a jerk...throw her in prison and toss the key.

OK, not at all a fan of the harpy, but how does one vote in the wrong district? What, can anyone just walk in to any polling place and fill out a ballot? In my district, you are listed on the voter rolls and will only be given a ballot if you go to the right polling place (determined by your residence). I don't understand how she got in to the polling place and how she got a ballot at all unless the person handing out the ballots was a total fcuk up. Not to excuse her because she, as a patriotic defender of all that is American, ought to know where her proper polling place is.

I agree with aquaman. This seems very strange.
The very first time I voted, I went to the wrong polling place. There is an elementary school across the street from my neighborhood where voting takes place so I assumed that was my polling place. However, my actual polling place was about a mile down the street, so I had to drive past one polling place to get to the correct one. I wouldn't necessarily say going to the wrong polling place takes a great amount of stupidity.
However, in my case, the poll workers knew exactly what was up and sent me to the correct location.

From what I have read, she went to the correct polling place for her alleged address - except the address she used was her realtor's office, not the acutal home she bought in the area (and there have previously been questions about whether Mr(s) Coulter met FL residency requirements to start with.
David-Miami
Nov 3 2006, 12:54 PM
CPT that is correct. It is not that she accidently went to the wrong place based on her registration. The issue is that she used a false address on purpose in order to register in an incorrect district. This is what makes it intention and easier to prove.
It is not the voting issue per se, it is the registration using a false address that is the issue.

And now, a word from the "Wicked Witch of the Worst Kind". Yes, she's ba-a-a-ack!
This time, she's getting herself into hot water for referring to former Sen. Edwards as a
"f****t". I think I need to send her an explanation of what exactly a "f****t" is. Perhaps a video from my porn collection will help clarify things for her, distinguishing between an admitted hetero like John Edwards and the true gays in the world. I just wonder where I can mail it to her.
fantomas
Mar 2 2007, 08:49 PM
Actually, she used the *f* bomb word a month or so ago, on NATIONAL TV, but there was no outcry on here or anywhere else, I guess because she just gets a pass for being offensive or people just don't see her hate speech as that bad. (She was using the Isaiah Washington flap as an opportunity to use the word and be offensive.) She also claimed Bill Clinton was gay and called Al Gore a "total f*g," but again, she gets away with it, no outcry, nothing.
Now this hag decides she going to use the term yet again. She also attacked Obama by attacking Clinton, made fun of Al Gore's weight, etc. What a hateful, pathetic, troubled woman. Who was the hero of some on here (who've since stopped dropping by).
But hey, here's the full story:
Raw Story: Coultergeist Goes Off AgainQUOTE
"What's Al Gore up to these days?" Coulter rhetorically asked, before answering, "Four hundred pounds."
Coulter asked, "Did Al Gore actually swallow Michael Moore?"
"Obama is half-white and half-black," Coulter said, before comparing the Illinois senator to former President Bill Clinton. "Clinton was half-white, half-trash."
Before concluding her speech in order to take questions from audience members, Coulter took a final shot at Edwards.
"I was going to have a few comments about John Edwards but you have to go into rehab if you use the word 'f****t,'" Coulter said.
This wouldn't mark the first time that Coulter has "gay-baited" a Democrat. Last June, Coulter used the "other f-word" in a joking reference to Gore in a television interview, and, on a few different occasions, claimed that Bill Clinton could be a "latent homosexual."
"I think that sort of rampant promiscuity does show some level of latent homosexuality," Coulter said of Clinton on The Big Idea with Donny Deutsch on CNBC (Crooks and Liars has video of the CNBC comments).
During a Hardball interview with Chris Matthews, Coulter also said of Clinton, "I don’t know if he’s gay. But Al Gore — total f*g."
Last month, RAW STORY reported that, while discussing politicians and celebrities who "run to rehab in times of crisis" on Fox News Channel, Coulter mocked the idea that someone should have to be "rehabilitated" for using a word that is considerd a slur against gays (link).
"You use the word 'f****t' and you're going into rehab?" Coulter asked incredulously on Fox's Live Desk A-List.

On some level, Ann Coulter helps remind the country just how screwed up the extreme right wing has become...Obviously she's something of a freak, and I believe the above mentioned poster (gmginsfo) who militantly supported her, moved on when that messy pageboy scandal erupted (poor thing) but it seems like lately whenever she opens her mouth, it just puts another nail in her credibility coffin, surprising as it is that she ever had any...and that can only be good. I think this episode is particularly pathetic and anyone out there who continues to support her needs serious theraputic help.

Another link or two, for good measure, with bonus documentation of the homophobic barbs she's hurled at Gore and Bill Clinton:
http://www.salon.com/ent/video_dog/politic...html?source=rss - an hysterical quote from the Salon article preceeding the clip:
QUOTE
(And a weirdly self-defeating one at that: Most of the only people we know who have ever gotten a kick out of Coulter are gay men who manage to enjoy her as bitch-queen theatrical performance art.)
http://www.salon.com/politics/war_room/200...lter/index.htmlI actually want her to get wound up, because eventually she'll say something offensive and inflammatory about Obama. Compared to the hell she'll catch for that, it'll look like it's not as big a deal for her to call people fags...
Anywho, back to the original issue: I'd love for her to get a sentence of some sort for the voting fraud, and, in an ideal world, for Bush to have to pardon her.

I have re-read this thread and find nowhere that someone was making light of the word f****t. What is being made light of is a women who is so vile her own mother probably doesn't like her. It really is something when even the conservative right is turning their backs on her.
lksimcoe...what you have experienced is bad, no doubt about it, but your anger at people in this thread (if I understood you correctly) seems a bit misplaced. I have found most people around here to be supportive and "humanistic", and I'm sure if you look back over all the threads you've posted in and the posts you've made, you have found a lot of support.
Now lets direct that anger at the right person...pretty Ann!

What are you talking about, lksimco? I'm confused. No one has anything but contempt for her here and there's no "younger" poster who's described the f-word in anything but unflattering terms.

Yes, who on here is laughing at her comment? I pointed out that she had repeated used both "f*g* and "f****t" in reference to Democrats (Clinton, Gore, Edwards this time), and in no case was it "funny" or amusing or anything else. Well, for most of us on here. Ann Coulter's ardent supporters and defenders on this Website are gone or rarely post in P&R any more.
The bigger issue is that she is a favorite of conservatives, especially young conservatives. If you listen to that clip, people are laughing and cheering her on. They're clapping with delight. Also, one of the leading Republican candidates appeared shortly before her, and praised her, and others were there as well, and have not condemned her. This horrible, hateful plagiarist has appeared on the Today Show, on Fox News Channel (regularly, she was on there the other night, again making fun of gay men), CNN, MSNBC, etc. Tell me one liberal who regularly makes such incredibly odious comments (she has talked about poisoning a SCOTUS justice, wishing that Timothy McVeigh had blown up the New York Times, killing and forceably converting Muslims, and on and on) and who gets back on the air? Who's a serial plagiarist, and yet is championed by the major news media? For Christ's sake, this woman was on the cover of freaking Time magazine! And I'll state it again, she is a favorite of conservatives.
So as much as we say why take her seriously, etc., we had better take her and all the rest of them seriously. They don't like gay people (even if they're gay), they are hell-bent on pushing their agenda, which they've had nearly 7 years to demonstrate as worthy and which has turned out to be A COMPLETE DISASTER, and they are still going to keep pushing their wingnuttery because they're ideologues and they know nothing else. And Ann Coulter is one of their poster children. I. Lewis Libby is another.

I guess it would be wrong to suggest that we perform "a procedure with a rifle" on her, even though she used those exact words at some far-right fundie conference, AFTER her Edwards comment, which she apparently repeated. From the
Politico.com report:
QUOTE
On the heels of her well publicized John Edwards quip—that both seem to be taking advantage of, there’s more Ann Coulter shock-and-awe. At a conference in Ft. Lauderdale over the weekend at the Center for Reclaiming America, which is connected to TV preacher James Kennedy’s Coral Ridge Ministries, Coulter reiterated her John Edwards description, and, according to Americans United for Separation of Church and State, said the following:
Earlier in her remarks, Coulter noted that seven doctors and clinic personnel had been killed, saying, "Those few abortionists were shot, or, depending on your point of view, had a procedure with a rifle performed on them. I'm not justifying it, but I do understand how it happened....The number of deaths attributed to Roe v. Wade - about 40 million aborted babies and seven abortion clinic workers; 40 million to seven is also a pretty good measure of how the political debate is going."
A birdie on the scene told us that after the f-word remark about Johnny Boy, the hundreds of conservatives who filled the church to the brim, gasped in shock. Moments later, she bid her adieu.
At least the religious wackos had the good sense to gasp, but I'm sorry, this goes way over the edge.

As an outsider looking in, my impression is that people like Coulter, Hannity, Phelps etc, while condemned by the right wing, are in fact silently encouraged.
When you have the extreme right wing getting as much play as they do, then the conservativeright wing, people like Brownback, Huckabee etc, actually sound palatable, and even acceptable.
It's those people who are the most dangerous to the gay movement. Their policies take a giant step backwards in gay rights, and since the extremists get the play, they slip in their hateunnoticed.
