Full Version: Those scary exhibition games

Interesting results from last night.

Sure Michigan State, Maryland and Louisville all won their opening exhibition games -- but against these lesser opponents -- yep, California and Georgetown, but not THE California and THE Georgetown:

State, down by 13 points in the 2nd half, came back to beat Division II Grand Valley State -- 61-57

Maryland struggled to to edge Division II California University (of Pennsylvania) by 79-78

and Louisville barely over little NAIA Georgetown College (of Kentucky) by 94-92

I was following those scores at the bottom of Illinois' Gamecast last night and I just couldn't believe how close some of them were. An MSU fan on another board said that MSU is in some trouble right now, especially with an injury situation.

My Zags bombed Augustana (who??) 89-53 last night. Full house for the exhibition too.
WSU Cougars
Those are some tight games. Might be tough years for the programs but we will see. I can't wait to see Gonzaga play either. That's my team.

WVU is playing a Division II school but it's a school like 20 minutes away

these games should be pretty much a joke and a nice payday for the opposing teams

T-Daddy,

WVU looked very athletic last night in their 30 point win over Fairmont State.

Coach Beilein will instill WVU's standard high basketball IQ into this freshman dominated team. But, you have got to love this group is highly athletic which is a sharp contrast from thr group of Herber, Pittsnoogle, Gansey, Collins, and others they are replacing. They'll take some L's this year in their growing pains, but I love the look of the team in the coming years.

6-7 Joe Alexander is going to be a dunking athletic machine. He has major hops. He's easy on the eyes too smile.gif.
