Predictions go here..

Wake Forest vs. Georgia Tech

just...lol....
GymMountainEER
That is a bold prediction. GT and WF missed the NCAA tourney last year. Where exactly are they playing the ACC basketball tourney this year? biggrin.gif
WSU Cougars
Who would have thought it was coming down to these schools? Not I lol..I'm watching Wake right now play BC and the look really good.

Georgia Tech verses Boston College, with GT winning it all. I checked the remaining games for all three teams. BC has an easier schedule than Wake or Maryland. Plus, GT has more talent than any team in the ACC this year, in my opinion. I like what they do on both sides of the ball.

I think I'm going to go for the Wake-GT matchup. You know that would be the ACC's and Jacksonville's worst nightmare. Neither of those teams (especially Wake) will bring a lot of fans. I'll go for the underdog and choose Wake to represent the ACC in the Orange Bowl.

I think Wake will take it as well

Wake's got the toughest part of its schedule coming up with its last three games: at Florida State, vs Virginia Tech, at Maryland. I don't have a good feeling that Wake will make it through those games unscathed. It would be good to see Wake vs. GT in the ACC championship game. But I don't know about Wake doing good in a BCS game. That thought just doesn't sit well with me. <shrug>

I don't think that any ACC team will do well in their BCS game

Wake could fall to Maryland (helping WVU's SOS) but not F$U nor Tech

Not a knock, but remember a lot of people were saying that about West Virginia last year before the Georgia game. Wake is looking good.

How disappointing that even with a strong comeback after two bad losses and playing with a shitty QB, that VT will not be the Coastal conference representative in the ACC Championship game.

I wonder what bowl game we'll get invited to? Hopefully still a respectable one.

I attended my last home game in Blacksburg as a student, and in 2 seasons I got to attend 7 home games, 1 road game and last year's ACC championship game in Jacksonville. It's been fun getting involved in college football. I'm sure VT will be back in ACC championship contention next season. We have a great stadium and the best fans (and some of the loudest) in the sport.

Wake is for real. They beat the crap out of FSU last night - at FSU. First time the Noles have been shut out at home since 1976. That said, the TV gods must be dying about the possibility of a Wake-Maryland or a Wake-Ga. Tech ACC championship game. The Gator Bowl will be overflowing for that one. laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

how's Boise this time of year

jersey, WF and MD are in the same division, so they can't be in the championship game together. smile.gif

GT is already a lock, btw.

Prediction: Terps over Yellow Jackets

Interesting article from the Baltimore Sun Article on the state of current affiars on the ACC. Ponders if anyone outside the ACC is even paying attention to ACC athletics.

Looks like ACC football is at an all time low. Jacksonville can't even give away tickets to the ACC championship as there are still 20k local tickets for sale. More interesting is Miami only drew a whopping 23,000 for their game against Boston College tonight. With Miami's win, it looks like the ACC Championship game will match the winner of Wake Forest/Maryland game against Georgia Tech.

Wow.. What excitement.

The depth to which this Maryland program sunk over the past two years after the first three years of the Friedgen era, it is stunning that they are one home win away from playing for the ACC Championship.

Absolutely stunning...

Even though it has been preceived a s down year for the conference, I like tha fact that a perennial doormat like Wake Forest came out of nowhere to win the conference (they beat GT today 9-6). A confernce title is a conference title.

It's like when Northwestern came up and won the Big ten a few years ago. And Rutgers has the chance to do it tonight as well. Now schools like Minnesota, Indiana, Ole Miss, Vanderbilt, Duke and Baylor that have gone forver without a conference title need to step up! laugh.gif

a down year?

this is the second year in a row that the ACC champ is ranked outside the top 15

remember F$U last year?

Playing in a Half filled stadium for the ACC championship game today, Wake Forest beat GT in the day's most exciting gridiron action ( excuse the chuckling).

Wake will most likely face the Big East Champ Louisville in the Orange Bowl.

With another conference champ ranked outside the top 15, the ACC will be under a lot of pressure to improve on its dismal 1-7 records in BCS bowl games.

With Wake facing the Offensive fire power of Louisville, the trend of the ACC losing BCS bowl games looks to continue until the 2007 season.

a half filled stadium? where did you get your "facts" from? The box score said that attendance was 62,850. How many attended the WVU-Rutgers game?

Wake Forest was #15 or #16 going into the game, with Rutgers and Arkansas losing, Wake should be #13 or #14---that's not "outside the top 15".

The "official" attendance might have been 62,850, but the actual "butts" in the seats were closer to 35,000 fans. Dr. Pepper and other corporate sponsers purchased tickets and GAVE them away to locals in Jacksonville. Its obvious you didn't watch the game or you would have seen just as many seats occupied as empty.

Attendance at the WVU-Rutgers games was 60,200. Capacity is 60,000. WVU NEVER has issues with attendance. I fail to see the point of your inquiry in relationship with the woeful attendence of the ACC championship game.

Wake Forest was ranked #16 in last weeks BCS Poll. Wake Forest has a chance to move to 15th in this weeks polls. WF has no chance to move ahead of Arkansas. However, it really depends on how far Rutgers drops in the Coaches and Harris Interactive poll. With a loss to WVU in 3 OT's in Morgantown, I doubt RU drops more than 3-4 spots in the human polls. The computer polls won't be too harsh on RU for losing to a ranked team on the road.
