Yes, this is a sad bit of news in an otherwise very heartening week.

That's horrible. I always enjoyed his news stories on 60 Minutes.

I too was shocked and saddened to hear about this today. I didn't even know that he had leukemia or had the recent bypass surgery. He was such a professional and a handsome, likeable guy. He was one of the few of the older journalists that I really preferred watching on television. 65 was too early for him to be called home. R.I.P Ed

I was shocked and saddened when I read about his death. I dind't even know he was ill. Always liked his 60 Minutes pieces, especially when he interviewed musicans. He seem like a pretty cool guy to hang with.

My parents grew up watching 60 Minutes, and so I of course followed suit. I remember hearing in the early 90s that Ed Bradley had won an award from some African-American group, and I was utterly stunned. It had honestly never dawned on me that Ed Bradley was Black! It might be because I'm completely and utterly clueless, but I'd like to think it was because he was so damn good at what he did that it didn't matter.

Ditto re: looking ill!! With Peter Jennings, we saw it coming. I also enjoyed watching his pieces on 60 Minutes, especially his interviews with Michael Jordan and Tiger Woods. I hope EB is resting peacefully!

I actually thought that in his last few 60 Minutes pieces he did look ill, but I thought it might just be old age creeping up on him. He was a pioneer, the first Black White House correspondent, winner of 19 Emmys, and a consummate professional who also didn't sacrifice his background or who he was to reach the summit of his profession. And as Mdterp says, so handsome and cool. Very sad, a huge loss.
