First, congrats to you Mountaineer Outsportsers...Slaton and White were way too much for us to handle, and you deserved to win...no doubt. I was at the game and was awed by the running of those two guys.

BUT you HAVE to admit that the play of the game was the punt return by Darelle Revis, made possible by the block of the year by Derek Kinder. I am still so excited about it I can't even stand it. I haven't seen a Pitt crowd that exhilarated since the Dorsett and Marino years....it was like a simulateneous orgasm for about 30,000 people. If we had won, that would be --hands down-- the game-changing performance of the year.

GO BIG EAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks, DND. The punt return has got to be among the plays of the year and the block by Kinder was one of the best I've ever seen. I was scared to death in the first half as WVU's defense never even bothered to show up. But the coaches made some great adjustments in the lockerroom and for as horribly as the D played early, that's how good they looked in the second half. They held Pitt to -1 yards on the ground for the game and sacked Palko five or six times in the second half alone. As far as Slaton and White go, they're just plain scary. And now, Rodriguez has White throwing to Slaton. I'm not sure anyone can stop that tandum. I'm really looking forward to the Dec. 2 showdown vs. Rutgers. Go Eers! Go Big East!

DND,

The block by itself on the punt return for a touchdown was possibly the best block ( leveling two WVU players with one blow) I've ever seen ( that's saying a lot), but the punt return for the touchdown ( same play) was one of the best punt retruns for a TD I've ever seen.

The Stadium was rocking after that play. You are right on- A Pitt home game hasn't been that alive since the early 80's.

With the great talent in the Big East and more on the way, BE football is sky rocketing to the forefront of college football.

Pitt will join the elite of the BE sooner than later. Its tradition, facilities, and recruiting prowess will make Pitt a player on national scene and join Louisville, WVU, and Rutgers at the top of college football.

Hey GYM...eer...I will vote fo you.

Agree with all comments...but am sorry to say I less hopeful about Pitt's hopes for a return to glory. I am one Pitt fan who has NEVER been excited about Wannstedt or Matt Cavanaugh as an Off Coordinator. After all, did you SEE those Ravens offenses he masterminded for 5 years?????

No need to vote guys. The BE's campaign is being determined on the field.

We will let the schools and conferences who believe their tradition and past years ( even though they suck this year) supercedes the BE's football product and let them get caught up in off the field campaigns. The BE injected much needed life into college football this November. TV ratings have soared and ESPN has become a the BE's little puppy dawg following and covering all things BE to capatalize on the momentum of Eastern Football.

Speaking of Cavannah and Wanny, I would have believed a 8-4 record would have been a step in the right direction this year. Losing to UCONN and Michigan State doesn't make sense. It seems the offense has taken 4 steps forward and the defense has taken 4 steps backwards from last season. Palko is as good Qb as any in America at leading and passing his team. Pitt has 2 great WR's that can make plays. The running game has improved even though WVu held Pitt to -1 rushing.

The good news is Wanny has done an outstanding job of recruiting fabulous young talent to Pittsburgh. 5 -star QB Bostick wasa huge recruiting coup for Pitt. I hope he stays. Also, Dickerson and the other freshman redshiting will take the reigns of Pitt program in the next couple of years. Lets hope Wanny can survive next year with a new QB to where in 2008 could be the break out year of Pitt football.

Pitt has too much young talent on its roster to be a yearly 7-5 middle of the pack Big East team. Lets hope coaching adjusts to allow this talent to cultivate and give the BE another loaded team.
