I've got friends involved with youth sports, and when one of them told me about this story, I was sadly not that shocked by it. What the hell is wrong with adults these days? This one guy's ego destroyed the hopes of many kids.

Maybe I should have put this in the people who should be shot thread.

mad.gif What an egotistic bastard! As someone who is involved in HS athletics, I can see how having terms dictated to me would be unacceptable. But this guy who started this is a complete egoist.

Of his son on defense, here is what the father creating the controversy said, "(H)e goes in and stays in. That includes all practices, scrimmages and games. This entire league exists so he can play defense on the best team in his weight class. . . . He is my son, I own the league, and he plays every snap on defense." Oh yes! Disregard all the other teammates who contributed to their winning. Ignore the contributions that the coaches made. Deny that all of them worked together to make a winning team. This ass is setting a horrific example for anyone involved in sports, from referee/official to coach to player.

This whole situation is sickening and this commissioner needs to be fired at once. No compromises. Fire him.

Not all is right but this is a happier ending than I could've hoped for.

Most assuredly! I'd like to see this guy come out to California and try to pull off a con job like that. He'd have his head handed to him on a silver platter before too long.

If the commissioner had any integrity at all, he would have recused himself from any decisions involving his son's team.
