The Golden Girls is one of my all time faves. I know practically every line. Now the ever great Betty White has joined the soap BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL as Stephanie Forrester's mother. This storyline will deal with child abuse Stephanie suffered at the hands of her father while her mother chose to ignore it. All of this made Stephanie the control freak we all love to hate. I really love Betty White's work and the soap world is getting an honor for having her grace their show.

I've always loved her.All the way back to when her late husband Alan Ludden was hosting the original Password (on which she was a frequent guest) to her role as Sue Ann on the Mary Tyler Moore show. It's nice to see some of the older actors and actresses sustain their popularity.I have no doubt that the Bold and the Beautiful will see a significant jump in their ratings!

I love Bea Arthur too. Such an incredable singer. And I know what the poster meant about M I A M I M I A M I. Remember the Golden Girl's line of you so cuterin interuterine? I know there was a stage version of THE GOLDEN GIRLS with an all male cast. I 've never seen it. Anyone else see it? Rue McClanahan is a riot too. And Estelle Getty has some neurological illness in real life.. I send her my love and prayers. That whole cast just clicked together.

Rose: Miami is nice... so I'll say it thrice.
Dorothy: Thrice? Who the hell says thrice.
Rose: It's a word
Dorothy: So is interuterine.
And then Rose sings: Miami. You're cuter than...an interuterine.
Hilarious!!!

Miami, Miami....you've got style
Blue skies, sunshine, white sand by the mile.
When you live in this town, each day is sublime
The coldest of winters are warm and divine.
Miami, Miami...You've got style
Blue skies, sunshine, white sand by the mile.
There's more pubs and nightclubs, all within reach
Dance the samba til morning, then lie on the beach
Each view is a postcard, each day a great time (hit it!)
The cream of the crop, it's the top fo the line.
Miami, Miami...You've got style
Blue skies, sunshine, white sand by the mile.
Miamiiiii....yoooouve....got styyyyyyle!
Sad note....I did this from memory LOL

I loved the storyline where the girls were going to spend the weekend with some gentlemen friends. Dorothy got on the loud speaker demanding 'condoms condoms condoms'. The clerk asked 'lady did you just get out of prison or something?' So hilarious. And could any of you have imagined Bea Arthur playing Piper Lauries part in Carrie? She would have scared me shitless. Excuse my language. She would have played one crazy bitch.

Betty White's
acceptance speech for the lifetime achievement award from the Screen Actors Guild. The woman is a treasure.
