Full Version: Michigan's whine

As for Michigan not getting into the so-called national championship... [yawn]

As for USC thinking it didn't need to show up for the game... HELLO! Guess those roses they handed out at the Cal/USC game have a different scent now.

As for November - oh how things change...

College football got kind of interesting at the end of the season.

Care to do an overrated/underrated thread?

Michigan doesn't look so underestimated now. Notre Dame IS overrated though. They were something like a combined three or four touchdowns away from being a very average 7-5 this year.

I am betting Carr and the boys in Maize and Blue will be emphasizing pass defense this coming spring like you wouldn't believe.

That second half was truly, truly painful to watch.

Here is too a hopeful 07 season... but with two losses at the end of a season, it really makes the overall effect of the season drop like a bomb.

Well, when MI pulled to within 8 points in the 2nd half, I thought maybe the D would step up for the next series. But if I recall correctly (I was sorta under a haze of Badger euphoria and beer buzz at the time) USC came out and had like 6 straight completions and marched right down the field for another TD. Awful.

The outcomes of both the Rose Bowl & the Emerald Bowl (which I picked both correctly in the CFB pick 'em) sure took out the SC-UCLA game sting for me. tongue.gif laugh.gif ...Couldn't be happier!

So what gives with USC anyway? If you just look at their out-of-conference games in which they completely dominated four ranked opponents, they looked like another national championship calibre team. On the other hand, they bumbled their way through the PAC-10 losing two games to middle of the pack teams and having enough close calls to say that they were really kind of lucky to win their conference. Are the PAC-10 teams better prepared for them because of familiarity or something?

That's what Ohio State's Tressel said after the Buckeyes dominated the Texas game--it's one thing to beat a great team out of your conference & it's another thing to struggle/lose to a mediocre team from your conference....go figure?! rolleyes.gif
