Simple solution to this problem: Bean-o. Bean-o before, there'll bean-o gas after!

The woman should know better than to light a match on a plane with smoke detectors but how did the matches get on in the first place? I'm pretty sure lighters aren't allowed so why would matches? Seems like someone got something past security.

What we have here is bizarro security. "You cannot bring lighters (fueled or without fuel) in carry-on luggage or on your person." However, "You may bring up to four books of safety matches in your carry-on baggage or on your person."

Remember when people were allowed to smoke on airplanes? Aside from smoking-induced disease and cigarette burns on your clothing, there's nothing inherently dangerous about using a match or lighter in the cabin of an airliner. But doesn't being hassled about it make you FEEL so much safer?

Remember the stupidity of smoking and non-smoking sections? It was all the same air, being recirculated over and over. I thought matches were allowed, but not lighters. I heard something on NPR this morning on how silly all this carry-on regulations have become, offering no real safety or security, while causing plenty of disruption. Are we any safer because of all these odd rules? Nope, not one bit. Another con by the con-artist himself, Mr. Fear, GWB.
