Got to thinking about this when I read this article about Jets ex-tackle Rick Lyle who is a certified nutrionist and overseas preparation of many of their meals.

Unfortunately the importance of nutrition as preventive and therapeutic medication is underemphasized commercially in this country so studies like this one at a Washington state university are relatively rare and obscure.

I'm not into the shakes and drinks that are suppose to boost energy but we often prepare fresh foods at home rather than eating out.

Hopefully the recent health-scares will not deter the trend toward healthier lifestyles in nutrition.

I think better regulation and monitoring of the food industry would be a big advantage for the health of the country. People can't buy what is not allowed to be available and the average person probably cannot determine the safety of organic and natural foods any more than they can that of synthetic pharmaceuticals.
