Houston Area Rapist Preys on Teenage Men

You don't hear too much about men who are victims of robbery who are also sexually assaulted, or even men who are simply raped. It happens everywhere though. Those incidents are usually isolated. This is making news because this appears to be a serial rapist. Who knows how many haven't come forward because of shame. Who knows how many all over the country, all over the world don't come forward because of shame. Is sexual orientation even an issue? Would just as many gay men not come forward as heterosexual men because of the stigma? I have to be honest...I might be hesitant.

I mean damn...I doubt this man is lubin' up his victims and slipping a condom on so who knows if he's carrying an STD, HIV... Ugh....I can't even imagine having to go report it, get a rape kit test done, be tested for STDs and the such but I hope if it did happen to me I would not give a f*ck about what others may think and just go through the process. It has to be extremely hard though and I sympathize with anyone who has gone through it and understand why they wouldn't want to come forward. As soon as I got home I would take the longest, hottest shower of my life, use an enema, and would want to just scrub my anus until its damn near raw. I hope they catch this SOB and while in jail, 5 burly jailmates with names like Bubba run a train on him. UGH!!! Those poor boys...this makes my skin crawl!!!

That's certainly a graphic reaction.

This a****** is preying upon teenage guys who he apparently fixates on. I hope that the police are giving this the immense priority that it deserves.

And a reminder that rape is never about sex and certainly not about sexual orientation; it's about power and the desire to strip someone else literally of theirs...I believe premeditated rape should be punishable by life imprisonment.

Ya know I know that rape is USUALLY about power but I don't believe its always that black and white. I do believe that sometimes its about just getting off in a sex type of way and has nothing to do with power. Ok so then you'd get the response that sex can be gotten anywhere. But if someone has a rape fantasy and are obsessed with it, then regular sex wouldn't be fulfilling that obsession. The person would want it to be real. So the pathology of all rapists can't be explained to me that its always about power. I mean on the flipside, rapists obviously want to be in control so I guess power is a part of it but I think that it could be a combination as well. I mean the drunk college guy who rapes a girl I think most of the time it isn't about power. He wants to get off!!! Also...could it be possible this guy could be taking his own sexual orientation issues out on his victims? Was he raped as a teenage boy, never got counseling for it, and is so enraged by it that thats why his target population is teenage boys? Its possible I think. If it was simply about power then why specifically teenage boys?

See...thats why I don't see it as always being so black and white. Being as though psychology was my major in college, (not saying I'm a know it all and anyone who wasn't can't debate with me on this...I'm just sayin..psych was my major so I know a bit more about psychological issues than say an engineering major) I just don't buy that you can place all rapists into one category and say "its all about power" Thats way too black and white. Oh and my reference to whether sexual orientation is an issue was about the possibility that gay men would be as hesitant to come forward as heterosexual men. I've heard plenty of people say about heterosexual victims of sexual assault that they wouldn't come forward because of shame, and I think you'd find plenty of homosexual men who wouldn't either. So my point was...does it even matter the sexual orientation of the victim in regards to them reporting it? I don't think so. I mean if an actual study was done, I'd guess one would find more gay men willing to come forward, but still plenty that wouldn't because of shame.

Attempting to psychoanalyze this pervert's motives are, at best, going to be off the mark at this early stage. The best we can know is that he somehow gets something (either power or sexual attraction or another ill motive) from attacking these young men.

My hope for justice is that he be placed in the general population at whatever prison he rots in. This way, if he happens to fall prey to "prison justice", then the taxpayers will be spared the expense of this rotten excuse for a human being. mad.gif

Well you're right...I certainly don't have anything to go on to psychoanalyze him. I'm just simply talking in terms of possibilites in refuting the notion that all rape is about power.

You too are quite right that not all rapes are about power. There are oftentimes other motives that go unnoticed or unremarked because everyone has this stereotype that all rapes are all about power. Sometimes, the primary motivation is a certain wanton lust that goes too far (as may very well be the case in this man's case) or a sexual need that has built up to eruption.

I hope we get the opportunity to know which it is, after this pervert has been caught.

What a strange story. Thanks for posting it. You know, we are such creatures of habit it would be easy for someone to track us and learn our schedule very easily. It sounds scary but I bet someone could learn your travel habits and daily schedule very quickly.

Think about it. How often do you really check your surroundings to see if the same person is showing up where you are? If I saw the same guy at several of my normal places I would think he was cruising me and I would be all flustered. Since these guys that have been attacked may be straight they might not even notice a guy following them the same way gay men would.

what do you think? Do you think you would notice someone following you over the course of several days?
Bryan
I would definitely notice...Anyone who's lived in big cities (me: chicago, LA, and SF) is constantly aware of their surroundings. Someone out of the ordinary, meaning who I don't see everyday in my neighborhood, would definitely stand out. This criminal is following guys to their door and then knocking or forcing his way in...personally I believe all bets are off when done in self-defense and if someone followed me to my apt door and tried to force their way into anything, I'd take a hammer/fry pan/wood block/fireplace poker/lamp/fist/etc. to their head so fast they wouldn't know what hit them...Unfortunately these victims are young and certainly overwhelmed by this guys' audacity...i sure hope they catch him quickly and fry him.

I go to this gay bar in Downtown Pittsburgh. On several occasions, there's this man who comes there, and just stares at me. He doesn't utter a word to anyone, but spends most of his time just gawking at me. This past Thursday, my friends Rick and Chris were with me. Chris is a boxer, and started a staredown with this guy, who left after a half-hour. I felt safe, because Chris offered to kick this guy's ass on several occasions. I guess I should go up to this guy and tell him to stop, but he's so unnerving and I have no idea what he might try to do. unsure.gif

But man, does it feel good when you have a boxer offer to back you up biggrin.gif.

That reminds me of an episode of "Campus Ladies." Does anyone watch that hilarious show? It's about these two 40-something women who decide to go back to college, and they end up living in the dorms on campus with all these 18- to 20-year olds. It's freakin' hilarious.

In one episode, one of the 40ish ladies goes to a bar and is checked out by some guy who can't stop staring. Then a week later, she goes back to the bar again and he does the same thing... he can't stop staring. She ends up going back to the bar each and every night "looking for my stalker," at which point her friend says, "if you keep going back to the bar and seeing if he's there, how exactly is he stalking you?"
