It appears by this CBS story that our Imperious President is attempting to reach out to the Democrats in Congress. However, I am still very skeptical with everything he had to say, particularly defending his tax cut strategy.

This country cannot afford a tax cut in the middle of his war of choice in Iraq. As he fondly compares this to WWII, wasn't it during this time that we issued war bonds and had a much higher tax rate also? I could swear I read that in college during one of my macro-economics classes. It makes no sense to cut taxes at a time when spending is going through the roof, in my eyes.

The war of choice must be paid for. There's no getting around that. Cutting taxes to do so is about as logical as going on a heavy-carb diet in an attempt to lose weight. Isn't one of those speech points that we as Americans must sacrifice to get ahead in the war on terrorism? If that is true, then we must start with taxes. Surrender this point and the others truly do fall into place.

However, with this being the worst president in American history, I won't hold my breath.

Now I see another headline where all of a sudden he wants Congress to reign in the spending, something the Repug.s haven't been able to do since they were in power all these years. He want off on Bush, and rightly so....I look forward to the announcement of hearings to be held on the (false) intelligence in leading up to the Iraq quagmire......his days are numbered!
