Round 3: This time it's personal! We are hitting Al Qaeda in Somalia now. Now that we are opening up a third theater for this war on terror, what is our ultimate goal here?

Well, the US got Ethiopian PM Meles Zenawi and his huge army to do the dirty work in Somalia first, basically driving the Islamists from Mogadishu to the sea, so perhaps W can persuade them to join the Coalition of the Illin' over in Iraq, now that Tony "Poodles" Blair isn't into "surging," and we might at least have more troops to deal with W's "Quagmire of the Vanities."

It could be messy, though; Iraq isn't Somalia, the Sunnis and Shiites would both be very upset by a mostly Christian army invading, and Ethiopia may have to rush back to face an Islamic insurgency at home, that is, if the Eritreans don't stir up some new crap first.

I'm in agreement with you on this, fantomas. Our Imperious President is stirring the pot and not expecting it to boil over into his face. However, with all that is happening, it appears that is the most likely scenario of all.
