Nice to see that there are quite a few guys in ordinary Speedos, however there are many wearing those yechy body suits too.

I’m a member of a Pacific Masters Swim team and I’m getting a lot of negative feedback from guys who have worn these suits. They feel like Hell and they are also awkward to put on and take off.

The manufacturers of these expensive suits have been promoting them as being “hydrodynamically superior” to swimming in bare skin. However, there is a lot of research that disproves these claims.

It seems that the manufacturers such as Speedo, Tyr, Nike, etc., also bankroll the Olympic swimming events and they mandate that athletes wear their products as form of advertisement.

Hopefully, the swimming community will figure a way to get rid of them and go back to the good old Speedo briefs.

In fact, there were only two or three guys wearing speedo trunks in the actual competition. Virtually all of the pictures with the speedo guys I took at the warm-up pool or before the actual competition. The swimmers did not seem to enjoy wearing the body suits either, they seemed to irritate the skin and it was actually quite amusing to watch how they needed each others help when they wanted to get rid of the suits as soon as possible after the race
