Howdy all, I wanted to get a sense of who from Outsports is coming to Chicago for the Gay Games? I'm thinking it might be cool to have a little Outsports gathering on a certain night?! If this is already in the works, my apologies.

Anyway, tell us in the comments what sports! Also, mention if you'll be going to Montreal instead/in addition.

I will be there for some running events. What do you think of getting people together for the WhiteSox game that the Gay Games organizers are soliciting.

Kevin, do you know how many seats you guys have, and how the Outsports folks might be able to all sit together? Since we don't all, you know, know each other??

The White Sox Game is being managed by our tour partner - Eved Services. I think they only have about 40 seats so like I said on the other thread, buy those tickets now.

There is a slim chance we might be able to score a block of tickets to the July 16 Cubs/Mets game. I'm the Gay Games rep for New York and I suspect that the New Yorkers will eat those up - we're expecting as many as 800 New York participants, so you do the math on that one. But if we get those tickets and there are some extras, I can let folks know - email me directly at mailto:kevin.boyer@gaygameschicago.orgkevin.boyer@gaygameschicago.org. We won't be marking those up in cost.

I'm signed-up for the marathon, and am just starting to increase my weekly mileage in preparation. My biggest concern right now is to avoid injury.

I think the Cubs/Mets game on July 16 would be a great idea. I'd like to do the Sox/Rangers game, but it's the night before the marathon (as well as closing ceremonies), so not the best timing for anyone doing that event. Also, the 16th has the advantage of being early in the week, and I think it makes sense to try to meet-up early on rather than the second-to-last day.

Hopefully Kevin will come through with some tickets!

I did manage to score 40 "group" tickets to Cubs/Mets on July 16. Looks like they'll be terrace reserved tickets and will cost about $40 a ticket (no markup by me - just passing the cost along). New Yorkers are going to have first-dibs as they'd asked me for help, but if you are interested, send me an email at kevin.boyer@gaygameschicago.org and if there are tickets left, I'll gladly let you be part of the group.
