Just curious how Outgames compares(d) to Gay Games on the issue of sandbagging and competing below skill level.

Can't comment on what's gone on in Chicago or Montreal this year. But I can tell you this. As a player in the gay softball league since 1989, I have participated in overa dozen tournaments. Toronto, Montreal, Philadelphia, Milwaukee, Washington DC, Dallas, Atlanta, New York and more. There have been cheaters at each and every tournament I've ever played. B level players/teams playing D. It's just accepted for some unknown reason.

It is up to the host cities to better monitor such situations. But it is also up to the governing body of each city to monitor the rosters of their teams, especially when traveling. If a team from New York or Los Angeles or Milwaukee or wherever travels and cheats, there neeeds to be some sort of sanctions against that city that sent the cheating team.

If an entire city received a 1 year tournament ban, I guarantee it would be a long time before they cheat again.

Monitoring of rosters is a good idea. Tournament organizers should save the team rosters from the Gay Games and Outgames and compare them to who registers for their tournaments in what division.
