This is as good a week as any to start this thread. A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, a Milwaukee ball club won a World Series. That would be the '57 Braves of course. And this week, one of their stars, Lew Burdette, passed away --- he pitched and won games 2, 5 and 7 over the Yankees.
Not many left from that team (Warren Spahn, Eddie Matthews, they're gone) -- Hank Aaron and Johnny Logan though, will be there be for a reunion in August at one of the Brew Crew games.
So it's about time for another Series in M'waukee. It's also the 25th anniversary of the Brew Crew's one and only appearance.
And I'm optimistic about at least a playoff berth -- barring last season's injury bug. They locked up Bill Hall for a good contract. With Prince Fielder, JJ Hardy, Rickie Weeks, the infield will be solid. They're gambling some money that Suppan will deliver. And maybe Sheets will finally come through. Fingers crossed.

The problem here is that the Brewers are discovering that being good in the NL Central is a completely different thing than being good in the NL East. Sure you can beat up on the Nationals (though not this week, apparently), but teams like the Phillies and the Mets are proving to be a different story. Many said that this current road trip would be a good test for the Brewers and thus far they're not doing so good. They're just lucky that all the other teams in their division, especially the Cubs and the Cards, didn't play so good this past week or their lead may have been diminished greatly. I think the Brewers will win their division (my hopes for the Cubs are dwindling), but can they get past the other top teams in the NL? Thus far, I'm doubtful.
