I saw this info-mercial the other night. What do you think of the Tater Mitts? Do you think they would really peel a potato like they say they do? Where does all the potato skins go? I wonder if these mitts cut big grooves into the potatoes? Oh, and how easy does the gloves clean up? I guess you will not be putting these things in the dishwasher. Ha!!

I did fall for the Vidalia Chop Wizard but I haven't gotten in the mail yet, but it is coming. laugh.gif

sad.gif None of those gadgets work like they show them on TV. Good ideas and worth a try, but never are they as great as they show. AND if they were as good as promised, why can't you buy them in any store? Ass they say, "there is a SUCKER born every minute." Here I am as living proof. ohmy.gif

NFW! Before you spend $27, try peeling a potato with a steel wool pad -- WAY more trouble than it's worth. A $5 vegetable peeler IPB Image will do the job better, and hardly lighten your wallet.

First of all, welcome Will. I haven't had the chance to say hello, but I'm making up for that now. You'll learn to love me, everyone else has wink.gif.

Second, what did you buy that makes you wiser? It wasn't a "psychic reading" from Miss Cleo, was it? rolleyes.gif

I want to know now what Will bought that made him living proof of being a SUCKER... Ha!! Or is this just a gay comment? laugh.gif You know.... gay guy.... SUCKER.... LOL laugh.gif tongue.gif wink.gif

We can all agree I hope that Will is a cutie-pie if that's his real photo on his profile. biggrin.gif

Thank you guys for the welcome. I have been made wiser by the house full of "wonder-working-gadgets" that I have bought in the past couple of years. "BUT WAIT THAT IS NOT ALL . . . " I bought the "Space bags" and attempted to turn an unorganized closet mess into an organized storage system. 75% effective.

Some have claimed that I am just plain gullible. I will buy almost any story that you tell me. A friend told me that the reason I believe is that I am an honest person. Yes, that is my picture in my profile, but no, don't think of me as a sweetie pie. I am mean as they come. There are, at least, 8 persons with personal experience of that fact.

Falconpride, give me something to work with, what makes you think that I will grow to love you like the rest?

What other gadgets do you guys have that "are not sold in any store" ?
We could be a test-lab for all those wonderful inventions.

I bought those triangle window cleaner things that have a handle and a bootie type covering you put over them. What a waste of money that was. I bought the bacon wave years ago. That works pretty well but you can cook bacon very easily in the microwave by placing the slices between bounty paper towels and zapping them for about 4 or 5 minutes on high.

I bought the pick-up and reach tool for an elderly neighbor of mine and she loves it. It was $9.99 at CVS.

I bought the OneSweep Broom and it was good for about a week until I found out you have to use it to get results. Also the rubber head kept coming apart.

I bought the NuWave Oven years ago but sent it back. What a mess that was. It sure does cook a chicken fast but there was oil and grease slung all over the inside of the contraption. Clean up was a bitch!!!

Check out this website As Seen On TV but be careful!! The urge to buy something will suck you in real fast.

Well, at least you didn't fall for the "psychic readings"....that gives me some relief. I have to wonder, how did you quantify the success rate of those Space Bags?

If you want to find out why you'll fall in love, you can ask the other people on the board. Joe in Philly, Blueraider, and Ted P. have all met me....you can ask them for user reviews. biggrin.gif But, I guess you're going to have judge for yourself....I tend to grow on people. wink.gif See ya around....

I just got my Vidalia Chop Wizard yesterday from QVC. I used it last night to chop carrots, tomatoes, celery and cucumbers for a salad. It works wonderfully!!! It really does what the infomerical says it will do. It came with two blades. One for chopping and one for dicing. I used both blades and it is great. It doesn't take much to clean the thing either. It comes with this little comb tool if you can't get all the debris out of the blades or pusher lid. It is very hard sturdy plastic too. I am pleased with the construction of the device. I would highly recommend you purchase it from Target instead of QVC though. At Target is is only $19.99 and by ordering it through QVC I ended up paying $24.41 with S&H and tax. I didn't realized Target had them until I had already ordered mine from QVC. dry.gif

how much are you getting paid to push this chop wizard on the net?

I like the hard devices as well, Gadbearr. Thanks for the recommendation for another tool in the kitchen.

Falconpride, I look forward to getting to know you even if you are like is a fungus.

Question: have you guys ever invented something like these gadgets? I did, once I created a velcro coat rack and all my coats had a velcro tab in the back. I used the same system under my ties to keep them from seperating when the wind blows. Yes, I am back on the top of the nurd list.

No, I am not getting paid to be a chop wizard pusher. LOL

and yes to Willwinone.... I have come up with ideas/inventions. I had a prototype I made of two coffee filters sown together and filled with coffee. You placed this into the coffee maker and there was not messy coffee grains to worry about. It would seem one Maxwell House Coffee company came up with the same idea shortly after I made my suggestion to them for this idea. Should I sue them for royalties? laugh.gif

I have an idea I am working on right now that will work with the plastic grocery bags you get every day. Sorry no hints yet. LOL

I also made a prototype device for use with drying your shoes after you wash them. It only takes them 15/20 minutes to dry completely without using any extra energy to do so. It's using, used energy. No extra costs to operate the drying process.

I really want someone to invent wireless electricity. (No, not batteries) If we can send radio waves over the air, why not electricity. If we can do that we can get rid of all wiring. You would have the electrical device equipped with an electrical receiver and you would have an electrical hub generator (EHG) in your home that would supply energy to all your devices similar to your wireless computer network right now. The EHG would either be on or off the grid depending on if you have solar or wind powered equipment connected to it.

Any thoughts??

Oh, I did buy the Dyson DC15 (The Ball) vacuum about a month ago. I am not a Dyson dealer either "theodoresdaddy" but I would highly recommend it. laugh.gif It costs a good amount at $499 but I had the 20% off coupon to Bed Bath and Beyond and that saved me $100 so I got it for $399. Just a reminder that the 20% coupons to BB&B are taken at Linens & Things and they do not care at either store if they are out of date. biggrin.gif
