I love some of the commercials, particularly
this one: "Sounds like somebody woke up on the wrong side of the rock!"

But as a sitcom? Horrible.

I'm going to keep an open mind. I have my doubts, but I also thought Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip was going to be great and that turned out to be pure crap. So with lowered expectations, maybe this could be campy fun. And it's gotta be funnier than George Lopez or According to Jim.

I actually like the one where he's on the people mover at an airport better. The song in the background is "Remind Me" by Royskopp, but I've never heard the arrangement used on the commercial anywhere else. I kind of like that version, and would like to hear the whole thing.

Puschkin...thats my favorite one too, particulary because of that Royskopp song. It took me forever to find it online but I downloaded it off Ares. Love the song. As for a sitcom of the show...uhhh yeah..not sure how that would pass.

I bought the CD with that song just because of the commercial. Love the song. That particular commercial's okay, but it's just not as laugh-out-loud funny as "Sounds like somebody woke up on the wrong side of the rock!"

I love the commercials, but when I heard this news I thought "oh, come on!" But I re-thought about it and if it can be smartly written as a social commentary on how people who are "different" are treated by society, yet still maintain the comedic tone of the commercials, it could work. Besides it's been awhile since any of the networks tried a truly high-concept sitcom.

This show would be a smash hit. I mean if America fell for 'American Idol' and 'Deal or no Deal', Caveman will rocket to the top.
Personally, I'll stick to the Science Channel. Why just the other day, I learned that when you sneeze, boogers come flying out of your nose at 200mph. Now that's entertainment worthy of an Emmy.

My favorite commercial is the one where the initial appology is attempted to be given in a restaurant and the one caveman orders duck and the other said that he has lost his appitite.
I think that I would watch the show out of curiosity just like I did on "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip" and other shows like that. The Cavemen have good personalities, with the exception of an attitude. Why did they select Atlanta for the location of the show? Are they going to be gay cavemen?
Can anyone tell me who the actors are and anything about them?
How much time does it take to do make up?

Gay Cavemen Sitcom- now thats what I call HIGH CONCEPT! But 'seriously" what is the premise- the cavemen have always been around and nobody has notice them? Are they brough back by some sci-fi device? Are these missing links discovered in some Lost World Island? Better yet- will they have hot hairy bodies?!

Just wondering . . . if the caveman show makes it and becomes a smash hit, will there be a caveman fashion fad started? I don't look good in long hair, and it grows slow, so I would have to start now.

Well the show has been picked up and will debut on ABC's fall schedule Tuesdays at 8pm. On the upside, According to Jim is nowhere to be found.

George Lopez is
p*ssed that the caveman stays and his show goes.
QUOTE
Lopez said he attributed the cancellation in part to the fact that the show is produced by Warner Bros. Television, and not ABC Television Studios. Using some colorful language that cannot be printed in a family newspaper, Lopez scoffed in particular at another ABC pickup: "Cavemen," about two brothers and one best friend, described as sophisticated cave dudes living in modern-day Atlanta, who will continually find themselves at odds with contemporary society.
"I get kicked out for a...caveman and shows that I out-performed because I’m not owned by [ABC Television Studios]...So a...Chicano can't be on TV but a...caveman can?" Lopez said. "And a Chicano with an audience already? You know when you get in this that shows do not last forever, but this was an important show and to go unceremoniously like this hurts. One hundred seventy people lost their jobs."

[The pilot episode] focused on the following stereotypes of "Cavemen": athletic prowess, sexual prowess, dancing ability. So the Cavemen are gay? I mean they
did shorten Cro-Magnon by calling themselves "Mags" in the preview.
