Former ‘Idol’ employee sues show, Vazquez
One-time assistant accountant details alleged sexual harassment

Access Hollywood

LOS ANGELES - “American Idol” and former Season 4 finalist Mario Vazquez are being sued by an ex-employee of the popular program who alleges he was fired for complaining of sexual harassment.

Vazquez, a handsome, popular contestant, left the show, two seasons ago for personal reasons, telling Access Hollywood at the time, “(It) has nothing to do with my family, nothing with me being sick, nothing like that. Basically there will be lots of hearsay on certain things,” he added.

Now however, an “Idol” controversy has erupted suggesting Vazquez may have actually left the show because accusations of sexual harassment on the contestant’s part came to light.

Magdaleno Olmos, a former assistant production accountant, filed court papers in Los Angeles Superior Court accusing Vazquez of harassing him and “Idol” of letting him go, for reporting the issue.

In court papers obtained by City News Service, Olmos claims Vazquez followed him into a bathroom, and opened the door to a stall the “Idol” worker was in. Olmos further accuses Vazquez of having touched him in a “sexual” way and asking the worker “if he wanted oral sex.”

Olmos also claims he complained to a supervisor but was told “that he was crazy, was imagining this and should keep this information to himself because no one would believe his account,” CNS reported.

Calls for comment by City News Service to Spokesmen for Fremantle and Fox Entertainment, as well as Vazquez’s personal lawyer, Jess L. Rosen, were not immediately returned.

Olmos is suing for wrongful termination and violation of the state’s Fair Employment and Housing Act.

SHUT UP!!! I AM TOO THROUGH!!! I knew Vazquez was familia but good grief Mario. You are too cute to have to be stalkin men in bathroom stalls over this. This is just seedy and exactly the kind of publicity not needed.

I knew all along he played for out team, but I don't think this was quite the way I imagined finding out about him.

I'd be willing to be that this was consentual, it was no "harassment" and now this accountant or whoever is just looking for cash.

Why is this coming to light two years after the fact?

Well a Mario update on this. A good buddy of mine who is a DJ in Philly and NY is friends with Mario and he told me that the story is total BS and Mario doesn't even know the guy. He said Mario is countersuing and t its not in Mario's personality to be aggressive like that. He also said that Mario is not worried about it. He left the show because Clive Davis wanted him to sign with his label JRecords, which is what happened. He said he's also doing an upcoming interview in People magazine so stay tuned to see how this pans out.

I hope this becomes a media sensation. And that the fired employee wins.
American Idiot will be taken off the air and the whole world will rejoice.
In fact, I'm starting a petition to make it a national holiday on the date it will be cancelled. laugh.gif

Doesnt this sound more like the accountant's fantasy? Also why wait until now to go to court?

I'm an accountant and my fantasy never would have been Mario Vasquez. Barely remember him, but knew he left early for some reason. Vaguely remember something about goofy hats. Now Chris Daugherty or Josh Gracin in his military prime beefed up and ready for the showers. Maybe Gracin manhandling Daugherty's bald head between his thick thighs (Hey there's time to think when Sanjaya sings). And if they were highly organized with great files, had balanced check books and financial minds--hmmmm, either one could be an accountants' possible soul mate(s).
