Albert Mohler, the president of the Southern Baptist convention believes that homosexuality may be inborn. On his website he is calling for research that could lead to a 'cure' of homosexuality while the baby is in the mother's womb or after birth. Leaders in the vatican have stated similar ideas. This sort of 'science' is akin to nazis and their Mengele. It is fascist 'science'.

If we could come up with a cure for religion things would be much better.

This actually has caused a stir with both the Right and the Left. Unfortunately Mohler's article has been removed from his blog so I can't quote or link Mohler directly. But the Charlotte Observer....wait those conservative bastards have also removed the article from their site. Those d*mn shits.
Apparently (now recalling from my reading of the article this morning) Mohler agrees - to the chagrin of his conservative cohorts - that sexual identity is determined in the womb. He then incites liberals by saying this is still against God's plan, and that in utero hormonal treatment might be the best way to overcome this sin nature. Of course this places man (and his subjective morals) in the place of God by undoing God's design for the unborn. Mohler says that other proactive medical measures are routinely undertaken to improve the health of fetuses...
Wow. Mohler is president of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, so this is pretty significant in fundamental circles.

It's not nice to fool mother nature! Don't play God, what God has created is perfect, in its own way.
At least, now there is a baseline for the belief that one is born homosexual and that it is not just a simple choice. Thank you Albert for that victory and foundational fact. The AOL pole show that 52% of people poled believe in homosexuality being biological.
I grew up Southern Baptist. My dad attended on of the six Southern Baptist Seminaries. So, I understand the impact of this huge statement. There will be a major baptist fuss over this. just watch, it aint over yet.

So its wrong to abort an unborn child but it will be ok to play God and 'fix' a potentially gay fetus?

I'd take this further, so stem cell research is not ok cuz we're "playing" God, but it's ok to mess w/ a fetus?

Another illogical argument from a buffoon!

Well thank God for Hitler. Finally a cure for my disease. Nice to know he was right and God was wrong. When will a pill be on the market?
Seriously though. I can't help but think this might be a publicity stunt conjured up by Mohler. I don't think a credible scientist could come up with such an absurd conclusion. There must be another motive for his actions/statement. The only comforting thought is that both sides are questioning this.
As for me, I knew I was gay once the doctor slapped me on the butt. I asked him for his phone number and the pervert actually gave it to me. I never called.

Perhaps someone needs to call for treatment for this Mohler guy...a lobotomy. He'd actually become smarter that way.
