There is a God!

Casting is starting this week in LA and ends in NYC around April 9th.

I cannot wait for this to start up again!

Even though I like Top Chef, Top Design and WorkOut ... they don't have Nina, Heidi, Michael and Tim. You gotta have them! biggrin.gif

wink.gif
TheOtherFSU
Tim is coming back next season despite the fact he left Parsons, right? I can't imagine PR without him.
Allen
Oh yeah ... everyone is coming back!

If they had Laura Bennett come back too ... HEAVEN!! I just love her.
CPT_Doom
It's official! - We can all look forward to "carry on" and "make it work" for another season!

Although the fact that he's already been participating in the show's fourth season casting calls was a pretty strong indication that he'd managed to resolve any lingering contractual issues, Project Runway's producers have formally announced that Tim Gunn will return for the Bravo reality show's fourth season.

Allen, if you love Laura (and who doesn't - she's beyond fabulous!) you have to check out the Project RunGay web site. It's a married gay couple blogging about the show - to fill in time between the 3rd and 4th seasons they've been going back to seasons 1 and 2. They're incredibly funny, without being unnecessarily cruel, and they not only have major crushes on Laura, they've made friends with her and a few of the other designers (like Emmett from season 2). They're always posting pics of her and her kids, you can cyber-stalk her to your hearts content biggrin.gif
Allen
According to Heidi Klum's Website, Season Four will premiere on November 14th.

THANK GOD!
Allen
Meet the cast of Project Runway Season 4!

To quote his bio, though:

FASHION MUST: A sugar daddy

Ew.
Allen
and it looks like OutSports did a story about Jack a couple years back.

biggrin.gif
Maddog
Nice find. I wonder if Todd is his sugar daddy. tongue.gif
Allen
It looks like OutSports reported him again during the Gay Games.
Allen
Okay ... the new season starts next week!!! Whoo hoo!

Here's a great article about Jack.

and a preview of the designers' designs on the runway.

Yeah, I'm not excited at all! rolleyes.gif
Illini_fan
It begins tonight, set your TiVos!
Maddog
I wonder if our Jack wins it all? I mean it's strange that he's barely mentioned in the previews but he does have that cameo in the Sex in the City movie. Hmmmm.

mdterp01
Yay!!! This is one of my favorite shows. I love the creativity that the designers come up with in their designs. My clothing style is very classic and simple so while there were only a few designs that I liked, I still appreciate the creativity that was presented. With it just being the first show I don't have a favorite yet but I do like Rami and Steven. Christian is already workin my nerves and its only episode one. Could he be anymore of the stereotypical catty queen? rolleyes.gif I love Carmen's funky sense of personal style. I don't see to many sistas like that. Jack's got a great ass but there's something about his face that just doesn't sit right with me. I don't know..he looks like one of those West Hollywood types that spend half the day in the gym and the other half in the club. ::shrugs shoulders:: He seems like a nice guy though and I liked his design. It was very Hamptons weekend.
theodoresdaddy
Jack is probably a bit too good looking

and I have high hopes for Chris

for those who has seen Beach Blanket Babylon, you've seen some of his creations

he used to design the hats and wigs for the show-they are always my favorites
Maddog
Jack is very nice looking but I'm in Rami's camp. He's definitely a hottie. After watching the season previews does it seem to anyone else that Jack might leave the show early? That might explain the limited exposure in the promos (but not really explain the cameo on Sex in the City.) Nice beginning over all.
fantomas
There's too many people still, so I can barely tell them apart. Except for Rami, who's gorgeous and can obviously design, Christian, who I thought was a FTM for 2/3rds of the show, and Ricky, with the cute gap in his teeth, and Carmen. I love her hairstyles and fashion sense. There's also the somewhat fey painter guy from Chicago (I can't remember his name), and the plump guy, who was giving great facial expressions. I felt so bad for him when he was straining to run across the Bryant Park lawn.

The guy who made sure to announce he was straight can't leave soon enough. It's 2007, creep, we know there are straight designers.

In terms of tonight's show, I was hoping the airhead woman who attached that trash tail to her dress would be voted off, but she has "interesting TV drama" written all over her so she's staying. I know I'm getting old because when I tried to remember the past winners, only Jay (and Kara Saun, who didn't win but I loved her designs, and Austin Scarlett, the most flamboyant creature ever on TV) and Chloe came to mind. Was last year's winner was Jeffrey, right? Or wrong? Was Santino on during his season or the previous one? What about Wendy Pepper? It's all such a blur. I guess I could go look it up.
boomer400
As usual, they eliminated the most boring woman on the first show. You go girls!!

Seriously though, this season is going to be awesome. Rami is hot, the designers seem talented and lots of drama will ensue. I love how the one straight guy went "I am straight" and then made fun of himself for it. This is basically the gay Super Bowl, or at least the regular season.
TheOtherFSU
OK so we all love Rami. He does it for me too. I enjoyed the show last night but... I don't know... it seemed to be missing a bit of something last night. I can't quite place my finger on it but it seemed a tad dull. Maybe I just expect too much from PR because I like the show so much.

For those interested... there is an interesting blending of reality shows on Bravo coming soon... in an upcoming episode of "The Real Housewives of Orange County," Austin Scarlett designs Lauri's wedding dress, which is supposed to be stunning. Austin, of course, makes an appearance.
kick
I was not all about Victorya Hong's design at all- I just didn't think it was visually appealing and I am thinking she is going to be having some very dull creations.

My favorites are Rami and Chris from week 1. I just want to squash Christian like a bug. Just pass me the fly swatter.

All of the other guys I find appealing either physically or personality- Christian works my nerves in both facets. What is with the hair?

Eric Swanson
I already adore Rami and Ricky, and Christian seems poised to be one of the more irritating designers this season. Jack has a gorgeous body (I did appreciate the sidelong shirtless view of him last night), but his face seems somewhat unreal (the laugh lines around his mouth seem to be carved in stone.)

Overall, I thought last night was a great way to start season 4. I got a kick out of the designer who was knee-walking all over some of her material in Bryant Park to give it natural grass stains. Was she the same as Elisa (unsure of the spelling), the multimedia artist who came up with the decent-looking dress with the misbegotten train?

THATS IT!!!! Its those deep laugh lines. The guy is 38 though. But yes...unreal is a good descriptive word to describe his face.
Dedric
Rami is hot and I hope he stays for most of the season so that I can enjoy looking at him.

However, I feel like the more I see him, the more he is likely to say or do something that is too "gay" or effiminate. That would turm me off immediately.
CPT_Doom
I am so glad this show is back! Great premiere episode - can't wait to see the ensuing drama.

I have to say, though, I thought the judges were smoking something with their top three - Rami's dress was nice (and he's HOT!!), but I thought it was a dull color, and made the model look a bit fat. The black dress was a little black dress with falling bra straps already included, and Christians - WTF??? Are Alexis and Krystle about to duke it out in the fish pond again? How does someone who's only 21 even know about Dynasty? And the black ruffle - straight off of a bad 70s tux. For my money - Chris was the best dress - the color and style were stunning (especially because his dress came right after Elisa's psychedelic nightmare) and I even like the big bow in the back.

However, they were dead on with the bottom three - the dress that was "poohing fabric" was a brilliant failure though (and you can't tell Heidi Klum has small children at all) - and I thought the baby doll was nice, if safe.

All hail Runway!
kick

This statement is truly a shame. I have seen the toughest and most butch guys giggle like schoolgirls over a kitten or puppy and I have seen the most effeminate men put up a serious fight against someone bigger and significantly more butch than they were.

Everyone has mannerisms and acts in various ways, gay-straight-bi-trans. It is what makes us human. But God bless that you want someone who never acts "too gay" or "effeminate". It leaves the good guys for the rest of us rolleyes.gif

To stay on topic- I am hoping that Rami will do more than draping techniques- when they showed his shop- almost all of his designs were similar styling- hoping he branches and grows a bit- otherwise he might be more like Laura from last year.

I thought Rami's dress looked like something that Faye Dunaway would have worn in "The Towering Inferno".

CPT - My partner (who is not a fan of the show) and I were saying the same thing about Christian's dress. It was straight out of Dynasty. I was just waiting for Joan Collins or Linda Evans to show up and say that they wore the dress! I'm already over Christian. Having confidence is one thing, but he's stepping into egotistical land.

I personally was a fan of Jack's dress. I loved the color contrast between the black and white fabric and the sky blue accent. It was a very nice dress and I thought he should have been in the top three.

I'm not attracted to any of the male contestants which is a blessing. I can actually focus on their dresses instead of rooting for the hot guy that I don't want eliminated. Loved Robert from last season, but his dresses were pretty much all the same.

If any of you get the chance, you have to read Dave White's wrap up of Runway on Advocate.com

Do you guys ever wonder if the contestants on this show or even other shows ever look at the chat boards and read about themselves?

It would just be strange to be on a show like Project Runway and go on here and read about yourself.

Sorry ... I was wondering about this today at work. (Slow day, I know.)

Seeing Sarah Jessica Parker tell a designer his dress is "severe" ... PRICELESS. And a bit ironic, because we were dissing people and situations as "severe" over a decade ago in grad school...

I agree. When I saw him in that cut-off shirt, I was like "Yes ma'am." And I like his accent.

I do want to give Christian credit for taking the full "fall" for the dress/jacket that he made. He earned a bit of respect- it could have been easy for him to say that both of them should go home or to try to place the blame elsewhere. I also felt that he rightfully asked for SJP's input in a tactful manner.

I loved SJP's input on all of the dresses- she is just really a classy and sophisticated woman!

I actually really liked Victorya's dress very much this week- they made a nice choise. I thought that Ricky's dress was pretty. I thought the Kit/Chris "French creation" was drab, dull and luckily they werent in the bottom 2. Rami's model looked horrid with her hair and the way it was built up. The way he has the clothes drape on her- makes her look huge...

I loved Chris Marsh- "I think we're going to be making this out of toilet paper and Scotch tape" LOL

I agree completely. I think last week's episode was the most entertaining I've seen in a while. Christian did earn some grudging respect from me for not shifting the blame for the dress/jacket onto his partner, but I still find his overall attitude infuriating. Victorya's dress seemed bland at first, but it really grew on me once I got a closer look.

I enjoyed Sarah Jessica Parker's enthusiasm and delight in participating in Project Runway. She brought the show to a new level of fun and excitement.
tbbucsalstott
What frustrated me about Christopher's outfit was that in Week 1 he was praised for the look and this week he was raked over the coals. To me both outfits looked like they were from the same Dynasty collection. It seems already that there are some inconsistencies in the judging.

I did really like Victorya's look and definitely thought that it deserved to win.
Allen
Okay, did anyone freak out when the guest judge came out!

I woke up the upstairs neighbor's dog when I saw the guest judge!

mdterp01
MALE MODEL ALERT!!!! Thank you Tiki for your challenge because I too suffer from the very common small waist, black/latino junk in the trunk issue and sometimes its a BITCH trying to find pants and jeans that fit my waist and don't squeeze my ass in tight.

Christian's model David.....::FAINTS:: FINE TO THE MOTHERF*CKIN FINE!!! LAWD HAVE MERCY!!! Beautiful skin and skin tone and just....oooh lawd!!!

Tiki's wife is quite pretty. Nice looking couple. Go Tiki!!

Sad to see Carmen go but you can't not have time to do a shirt and then the rest of what you do have be a hot mess sandwich. That was really a mess. Sweet P's 10X collar was a mess and the pins and fit in Ricky's design was a mess. Between Ricky, Sweet P, and Carmen it was more about which one was the most horrible because they were ALL a hot freaking mess!! Congratulations to Jack, although his was not my favorite. I thought his shirt was ugly and others had nice designs with 3 pieces, but Tiki liked it.

Ok...I missed the very beginning of the show so I'm watching the repeat now. I did not know that Jack was HIV+ and has been for 17 years. He is surely making sure to take care of himself physically.
NoLongerHere
Wow.

WOOOOOOOOOW.

Sarah Jessica Parker and then Tiki Barber. This show is too much, seriously.
I actually wanted commercial breaks because the show was so anxious making.

The bottom three were clear, and it's bitter irony - or the product of clever editing and foreshadowing - that the final two would be Ricky and Carmen after that catfight in the sewing room.

Tres impressed that Carmen left with a smile and with dignity.

And, as to Jack, I'm curious as to how quickly the issue of his HIV status was addressed. I wonder if this becomes an issue or storyline later in the season? On one hand, it can come across heavyhanded and cloying to make it an issue or something teachable ...BUT, ummm, what a missed opportunity to educate if that was indeed it (but there has to be more about his experience later in the season).

I wasn't committed to this season at first, but now I'm hooked.
TheOtherFSU
I was shocked that Ricky didn't go. That thing was a mess, though Carmen really screwed up with that blue towel disguised as a shirt. I liked Carmen. Tiki looked cute and his wife is hot, but wow... would it have hurt her to crack a semi-smile at least once for a brief second? How can a woman married to such a stud be so glum and dull? Perhaps it was in the editing... who knows.

Has everyone seen the full nudes of Jack floating around the net? They're *model shots* so they're not exactly what one would call erotic, but they leave nothing to the imagination.
Allen
Yes, I've seen them. Hell, I downloaded them! biggrin.gif Oh, the shots are great of him.

I'm happy he won, but I think the HIV arc is almost foreshadowing something that may be happening during the season.
kick
I actually thought they brought attention to it only because: 1) He won the challenge and it is part of his story arc, 2) This would be the episode prior to World AIDS Day to bring attention to it and get in the back of people's minds.

My favorite suits were actually done by Jillian and Steven. If Kevin would have gone with a Turquoise color, I would have loved the entire look. I did not care for Kit's outfit- a little too Mister Rogers and all of the striped on Jack's shirt was giving me nystagmus.

I had to laugh at Chris Marsh and his suit- it looked so typical of what is expected of the difficult to dress big man and the basically all black outfit! LOL

I am so glad I recorded the episode- Ricky having his model sew, Sweet P obviously looking at her model's ass and enjoying the fit, Elisa's unwillingness to touch her model, Carmen's outfit in general, Jack carrying Christian like a "Pocket Gay"... this had to be one of the most hilarious episodes ever....

Along with the commercial with Tim Gunn asking the black girl if she really wanted her ass to look bigger and the other lady saying "It's a cultural thing, Tim"- I thought I would piss my pants from laughing so hard.

Hey - as a pretty broad-shouldered guy I am a big fan of the "hiding in black" strategy. laugh.gif

I actually really liked Chris' creation, but it was helped enormously by one of the most beautiful men I have ever seen as his model. I also thought Kit's creation was better than Jack's, but also liked Victorya's, even if she didn't.

I thought Jack's discussion of his HIV status was beautifully done. It was informative and added depth to his personality, but it wasn't at all heavy-handed. I wasn't a huge fan of Jack's outfit for Tiki - the colors were intriguing, but I thought it was a bit too stripey - but I was pleased that he won the challenge.

Kevin's outfit was pretty good, but a slightly less flamboyant shirt would have made all the difference. I thought Kit's was the best outfit overall.

I agree that Sweet P's and Ricky's outfits were disastrous, but at least they were completed. Carmen didn't even finish her outfit, so sending her home was the only real option. I liked her, but she seemed to have a knack for winding up on the loser's side. (Remember that she and Christian had one of the two worst outfits in week 2.)

I also like Sweet P and Ricky, so I'm glad they surivved. I just hope Ricky gets his act together and stops making excuses!

Overall, this was one of my favorite "PR" episodes ever - lots of drama, hot guys (including Tiki!) and a satisfactory ending. I was so impressed, I watched the repeat right after the first showing on Wednesday!
boomer400
Just watched the last two episodes...MORE MALE MODELS!!

It looks like the next one will be another team challenge. That makes for good TV but I'd rather see what they can do individually.
Eric Swanson
On the other hand, team challenges seem to bring out the designers' sense of personal drama.
boomer400
Awesome show tonight, mostly because of the personality conflicts. I don't know where they find people who get so intense about a TV competition but it's great for us.

Best moment by far was Heidi snapping at Sweet P -- answer me biatch!!
