I was quite perturbed at reading that Eileen Davidson has been fired from Y AND R. She is a great actress and her characte has sooo much more potential. Y and R has gone to the dogs lately. Now Sylvia Brown the fake psychic will be making some guest appearances on the show. The murder of Carmen Mesta story is soo boring too. And I hate it that the second Lily was axed in favor of the original actress. The second actress was by far and away the best actress. Kay Alden a co head writer for decades has been fired too. Y and R is just not the show it used to be. It is rapidly declining. Any comments, amigos?

Syvia Brown? The raw gravel voice and guest on late nite talk radio (Coasttocoastam Art Bell & George Noory?) will guest on the Y and R? How bizarre.

Ms. Brown has a new book on the creation of reality and how there is a deva realm, a goblin realm e.t.c. Just another rip off. If people are so hard up to read 'EXPLORING THE LEVELS OF CREATION' then they will read about anything. I think she's trying to rip off Jane Roberts who did those Seth books. I may stop watching Y AND R if this stupididty continues. It is certainly not the show created by the late William J. Bell. Its almost a parody of itself.

As someone who's followed Days, Davidson's firing from Y&R means she could come back to Days as Kristen but more importantly as Susan, who was some of the best comic relief.

Soaps are in such diaray right now. Y & R is definetly in a slump. AMC is virtually unwatchable. Most other shows are mediocre at best. Two bright spots in the sweeps period was Luke and Laura (only temporary though since Laura's off the show again) and hope on the horizon over at Days with the new writer.

They would be wise to snap up Davidson. She killed as Susan...just killed! And if EJ does turn out to be Elvis Jr (we know he's a DiMera, but have they said who yet), than she would be good as his mama, albeit a bit young.

The only thing good on ATWT now is Katie/Mike/Simon/Carly. With Mike and Simone leaving for good, and Carly leaving while Maura West (one of my favorite actresses daytime/nighttime/movies) is on maternity leave, it leaves Katie alone.

I do love that Katie is going to go back to her scheming ways. I just love that Katie Perretti!

Well there really wasn't anything that Ashley was doing on Y&R so its for the best if she returns to Days. I stopped watching Days after she left because that storyline where she played Kristen, Susan, Susan pretending to be Kristen, and the British woman who ended up being the woman killed who everyone thought was Kristen was just great. After that I was done with Days. Y&R is still my favorite because of its diversity and great writing and I just felt as though Ashley was taking up screen time that could've been devoted to something else. Hopefully she'll be back on days with Stefano, since he's off of Bold and the Beautiful. Maybe then I'll start watching Days again.

I quit watching Y and R some time back. I keep abreast of the show by hearing my friends yap about it. But it has gotten ridiculous. It jumped the shark when Jill became Katherine's daughter. It just isn't as good as it used to be.

The Bold and the Beautiful was my show for a good four years. When Taylor died and they brought her back, I was done. The same thing with them bringing Ridge back.

Ashley was good, and am going to miss her. But you are right about Susan and Kristen on Days. Ah, good times in Salem. They should bring back Lawrence Alamain, too.

I'm glad they brought back the original Lily; the second one never grew on me. I was hoping that the killer would turn out to be Mr. Teenage Angst--Devon--with the omnipresent scowl on his face since Day One. If anyone on the show has to leave, I wish it would be him.

I like Devon and I'm glad Y&R is finally using the only bit of minorities they have in their cast for a storyline. Lord knows its hard to find on all the soaps. Someone I'd like to see bite the dust is Colleen. Ugh...that girl is always whining about something.

As long as TPTB keep showing Thad Luckinbill shirtless, I'll watch Y&R everyday.

As I understand it, firings in the soap world are quite the common appearance. One actor or actress gets canned on one show, only to show up or be resurrected on another show. For some, it's a sport, tracking which performer is on which show. Actually, the true story for these firings and blood-lettings can be more entertaining than the storylines on TV.

I think they show Thad's character sitting around shirtless on a couch post-coitus with that Colleen girl at least once a week. For real, I don't think I'd ever noticed him until the Nip/Tuck episode where he appeared nude. And I've seen him in the afterglow a few times since then... sorry, I got away from the original context of this thread.

Yeah the way soap actors and actresses shuffle around from soap to soap is quite interesting. The characters on General Hospital who play Tracy Quartermaine and Ned Ashton are mother and son. But on another show those same characters were lovers. Its interesting but I was always able to just forget about that and focus on the characters they play on the particular show.

Doug Davidson (Paul) looked great in the pants he was wearing in today's episode. He had a very noticeable bulge. I have always found him very attractive. About the best looking man on Y&R.

The nurse from hell Sheila Carter has kidnapped Lauren's baby on Young and the restless. And she has taken Phyllis and baby Summer too. Y and R is always exciting when the evil Sheila is up to her evil ways. The dual roll of Phyllis/Sheila is some great acting. Are any of you others viewing this?

I'm watching. Sheila has always been a favorite character of mine. I screamed when Lauren opened the closet door and found Phyllis, bound and gag, and Sheila came up behind her.

I'm a relatively new Y&R viewer. I know the Sheila/Lauren backstory but never got to see the old Sheila in the role. This round, with Sheila played by the same actress who plays Phyliss, has been fun, tho why Michael and especially Paul didn't kill S when they had the chance is beyond me.

The actor who plays Daniel is the sole reason I stick around Genoa City. Well, him and the opportunity to see JT shirtless. Every time Drucilla comes on I run screaming from the room. Why couldn't Michael Grazadie (Daniel) get to play dual roles?

Well as a long time viewer of Y&R I must say I'm glad to see Michelle Stafford (Phyllis) play herself and Sheila disguised as Phyllis. For those of us long time watchers, we know that Phyllis has the crazy gene in her as well. When she first came on the show she was nuts. So I really think that Sheila may have met her match. I had previously said that I'll be happy when they finally put this storyline to bed. I mean my goodness how many times is Sheila going to come after Lauren and how many times are those idiots in Genoa City going to let Sheila continue to slip through their fingers without killing her?!!! This is a good storyline.

And leave my Drucilla alone. That is my girl. She is my fave on the show and I'm glad the writers allow her to portray a black woman the way she was meant to be played, and not these whitewashed, watered down black women that are on all the other soaps. Y&R is one of the only soaps that has a diverse cast and I just love it. Its #1 so long for a reason.

I don't like Drucilla's scenes either. When she first appeared in Genoa City she was a streetwise thug of a girl. Now she's a whiny, drama queen Diva. Glad they haven't shown Jena in awhile. The accent drove me nuts.

I missed how the last Sheila/Lauren storyline ended. They were stuck in a cellar, with a gas leak. What happened???

Well once again Sheila managed to escape that bomb shelter thing as it collapsed. Paul was able to get Lauren out but the private eye once again managed to let Sheila slip through is fingers...as always. How she got out I don't know. That woman is GOOD!!!! She had some woman get plastic surgery to look exactly like her and then replaced her in the institution she was in and then came to Genoa City disguised as some horrible woman with a british accent and horrible teeth with a horrible wig to match. She cozied up to Scott and then made up some poisoned pendant, gave it to Scott to give to Lauren as a present. The poison seeped into Lauren's skin and drove the woman damn near crazy. So after she escaped the bomb shelter, Sheila went to some plastic surgeon to look exactly like Phyllis, then killed the plastic surgeon. Its a mess.

Dru unfortunately has become whiny. I don't like that but I love it when she gets in people's faces with her sassyness. I read that the the actress who plays her wants out of her contract which would suck. I don't know if they will recast but I can't see anyone else playing that role. It also sucks that Shemar Moore won't be back as Malcolm. I can't see his role being recast either unless they find a fine Hollywood brotha to play him, like Jensen Atwood (Wade) from Noah's Arc.

Other tasty hunks on the Young and the restless include professor Corbel, Jack Abbot and Paul Williams. Paul looks sooo good in his tight jeans. He has quite a budge in those jeans. Jack looks so yummy. Paul and Jack are over 50 and look so incredable. Even better then they did as younger men. And the Ashley Abbot character is going over to the Bold And The Beautiful. I knew she wasn't gone for good. The actor who portrays Paul needs to bare it all in Playgirl. I'm in love with his bulge.

I'm glad they finally did something with "Jacks" hair. He had the same hairstyle for years.

The Y And R storyline had Ashley going to Hong Kong. According to various soap opera magazines the Ashley character will shortly be a permenant cast member of Bold And The Beautiful. Oh, and I forgot to mention Don Diamont aka Brad Carleton as a Y and R hunk. He is a beautiful man. Just sooo gorgeous.

Didn't Phyllis just have Summer? She doesn't even show she just gave birth. Both her and Sheila were wearing those form fitting blouses.

Phyllis is acting weird though. Wonder what's going on with that. Is Sheila really dead? Will Phyllis go back to being Psycho Phyllis?

Too many kidnappings on Y and R for my taste. Now Colleen and the Cockney girl Jenna have been kidnapped I suppose by Professor Corbel. And I disagree with the lad who thinks that Paul and Jack are too 'daddy' looking. They both are hunks in my book. And the bulge on Paul. WOW. The actors who play Victoria and JT are engaged in real life. The JT actor has an identical twin.

i've been out of town for a few days. please tell me what's been going down. last i saw jena was tasered by that thug and then taken away. how and why did jena kill carmen? colleen was almost murdered again? WTF?

Jana pretended to be tazered. Then she lured Kevin into the trap. She set the building on fire. Professor Corbel and JT rescued Kevin and Colleen. Colleen is now hospitalized and is hooked up to breathing machines. Kevin was arrested and taken away. Brad punched out Kevin. Nobody but Kevin's family believe him. Next week JT will hit Kevin in the head and nearly kill him. Carmen was at the coffee house when she was killed. She came in to get some coffee. Nobody answered her so she went into the back of the shop. She saw Jana with the Newman artwork portfolio. This was too much for her to know and Jana knocked her in the back of the head killing her. Jana's father was in the Czech Republic to steal the silver and gold. Victor, Victoria and Brad managed to stop him. The Czech authorities took the hidden treasure away. Next week Drucilla will be put in the mental hospital. The actress Victoria Rowell who plays Dru is quitting the Y and The R. I will miss her. I don't know how she will be written out. Hope this info was helpful.

Does anyone know if "Nina" will be coming back to Genoa City? Her name has been dropped lately with the revelation that "Cain" is a Chancellor and "Little Philip" is not. "Nina" was one of my favorite characters. Paul and Lauren are my other faves.

I don't know if Nina is returning to Y and R or not. I always loved her character. I hate this new storyline of Cain being Jill's long lost son. If they wanted to give Jill an overdue storyline then why didn't they give her a love interest. Not a long lost son. This whole storyline ruins the Phillip the second, Nina and Philip the 3 storylines. Cain may be nice enough looking but he's no actor. He's boring as hell. The fellow who plays Cain used to be the Beastmaster on the syndicated tv show. It was pretty boring. I like the new storyline where Nikki is running against Jack for senate. At least they are finally giving Nikki something to do. I wish they would use Paul more.

What happened to Dru? I saw today that Sharon was hanging over a cliff, while Phyllis held her by the wrist. Sharon let go and plunged into the river below. Man, it doesn't pay to miss a day, even the stories have been pretty boring lately. I should have stuck with Y&R, instead of watching my 'Stros lose another to the Pirates.

Oh my god yeah. Miss a day....miss a lot. Dru wanted out of her contract so this was their way of killing her off. That stupid whore Phyllis is blackmailing Sharon and Brad because she overheard them talking about their one night stand in NYC. First things first...why Sharon and Brad were talking about that in a public restaurant I have no idea. So, Phyllis blackmailed Brad to make sure he voted for Neil to get on the Board of Directors at Newman Enterprises. Nikki was running against Neil and Nick, Victor, and Brad voted for Neil while Victoria voted for Nikki and Nikki voted for herself. So...Phyllis has just been rubbing it in about the affair and holding it over Sharon's head. Well...Sharon told Drucilla and you KNOW Drucilla hates Phyllis.

So...there was a photo shoot for NVP/Newman Cosmetics near a cliff this week. Phyllis overheard Dru badmouthing her about the blackmail and Phyllis confronted Sharon near the edge of the cliff. Phyllis was blowing steam and was actin like she was gonna call Jack to tell him about the affair. So Sharon grabs the phone and Drucilla intervenes. So they are all fighting like 5 year olds over a cell phone NEAR THE EDGE OF A CLIFF. It looked like Sharon just let go of the phone and the momentum pushed her backward and Dru fell off the cliff into a "picture" of water. It was the cheesiest daytime scene EVER!!! I was cracking up!!! Sharon as you saw slipped from Phyllis' grasp today. The whole scene was ridiculous. Lily reacted like she'd seen her mother fall over the edge of a cliff. Meanwhile, Daniel stood there like he was watching a sports game on tv with no reaction. When Drucilla fell, somehow her hat managed to stay on her head. Sharon fell back and it looked like she fell 5 feet. U

gh...it was so funny, but Dru cracked me up on her last day. Her Dru-isms are hilarious. She is such the stereotypical, sassy black woman. She called Phyllis a "heifer" I don't know how many times and Sharon asked "How did someone as evil as Phyllis have a child so nice as Daniel". Dru said "She ain't raise him". LOL...I hollared. I'm gonna miss Dru.

What happened to Nick Newman? What's going on? Ever since SOAP moved it to a later time, I can't keep up. Did he leave the show? What is it with the Newmans? I know Victoria lost the baby and Sharon almost died, along with Dru.


I see that the guy that played Michael's first boyfriend on Queer As Folk has joined the cast.

The Newman corporate jet crashed with Nick aboard. Sharon was on the plane with him. They were supposed to be flying to Clear Springs for business. Sharon was supposed to be doing a photo shoot there but it was canceled. She walked in on the Newmans and shocked the hell out of them since they figured she was on the plane with Nick. But, she said she left her cell on the plane and couldn't call anyone. So...the plane went down over Lake Michigan. Of course the actor that plays Nick, Joshua Morrow, just signed a 5 year extension with the show, so it will be interesting to see how his ass survived this plane crash into Lake Michigan. I hate Sharon so I was pissed when she came walkin in the door. I mean damn...she survives the cliff fall, I believe she's been shot before. What does it take to kill her, a silver bullet?!!! So now everyone is devastated. The messed up part is that Jack and Sharon were supposed to be on the jet. But, Victor revealed to Jack that he knew Jack owned Jabot, so Victor sent Nick on the plane so he could keep Jack behind to "destroy" him. So, had Victor not been so hell bent on revenge, something Jack deserves by the way, Nick wouldn't have even been on the plane. Phyllis has blood on her hands too because had she not blackmailed Brad and Sharon into voting Neil onto the board of directors so they could have enough votes to approve the Clear Springs deal, there wouldn't have been a reason for Nick to be on the plane.

Yes, I watch this show EVERY DAY!! Young and the Restless is my show. And good grief...Thad Luckinbull was in nothing but a towel today. Seeing that Nip/Tuck episode and knowing whats under that towel had me breakin out in a sweat. That boy has an amazing body...nicely toned but not too muscular. I just want to lick his chest and stomach. Ok let me calm down. Anywho...thats what happened to Nick, who I've had a crush on since the day he appeared on the show. That boy is FINE!!!! But, like I said...somehow he'll survive the plane crash. It will be interesting to see how the writers explain how he survived it though.

I don't know if Joshua Morrow who plays Nick has left the show or not. Not many soap stars go on to better things after leaving the soaps. The actress who plays Victoria is married to Thad Luckinbill in real life. They are expecting their first child this year.

no, as mdterp noted, morrow finally signed his contract. i totally echo his thoughts about luckinbill and sharon as well. i wish they'd kill her off and i certainly wouldn't mind a few more towel scenes of j.t.
