Hey all
Just wondering if anybody was gonna be making the trip to Fort Lauderdale Thanksgiving weekend for the Hurricane Showdown. Looks like a pretty big field, and some...err...odd...off field events over the weekend, but it's always a fun tournament.

One of my teammates from my team here in NYC is going. He'll be playing with a team from SF I believe. I'd love to go, but no more vacations for me this year!

I was planning on going but busted up my ankle in DC's MAGIC Tourney....a teammate of mine is going and will be with one of the Atlanta teams! I promise to be there next year....reahabbing to get ready for Birmingham!

You're waiting 'til Birmingham? You busted up the ankle that bad, huh? We've already planned out Orlando in January and Tampa in February -- and the Hurricane Showdown is ALWAYS a blast, so I'm excited.

You boys still have the tournament on Easter Sunday here in Birmingham? Let us know what the dates are and we'll be out there to support y'all.

I'll be working that entire weekend....

Well, MiamiSpartan and all, the website is http://www.hurricaneshowdown.cc , and there's a full schedule of events listed -- we start our Round Robin games on Friday night, play all day Saturday, and into Sunday (my team plays its Round Robin games Friday night at 6:15 and 8:15), so come out if you get the chance....

And yes, the Birmingham tournament is still Easter Weekend, and Easter falls in, I believe, mid-March this year. The warning, though, Aubie, is that it RAINS at the Birmingham tournament every friggin' year. Not a few drops of rain, but monsoons, so bring the umbrellas.

The games will be played at Mills Pond Park, which is located on Powerline Road just south of Oakland Park Blvd. in Wilton Manors. You can go to the website for a full description of the fields and the directions.
