I've noticed prety much all day today that discussion board pages will start loading and then just hang there, or won't load at all, until I hit Escape. I've tested with IE, Firefox and Opera, and it seems to happen every time.
Is it just me, or are others getting the same thing?

I haven't had any problem today.

no problem with the discussion board, but the main outsports page doesn't load.

I'm having a problem too. I have to refresh the page, go back to the New posts page and try again. That's the only way I'm getting it to work today.

I get the same thing - though they do eventually load - strangley they also seem to load quicker if I switch tabs within IE.

actually, the main Outsports.com page is not loading for me at the moment. in the lower left hand corner of my FireFox it says "Waiting for proxy.blogads.com..."
the home page won't load in IE either.

Yes, I'm experiencing the same problems. The speed with which the pages load from the discussion board make me believe I'm back on the old AOL dialup connections.

We think it's an issue with some of the ads loading slowly and we have contacted the company that services the ads. Thanks for your patience!

I think the culprit is IE7's "Phishing Filter". I've just noticed that it sits and chews on every page of Outsports for some reason. Depending on your browser settings, it may be timing out before the filter has finished.
Edited to add: Maybe not. I just turned the automatic checking off and it's still very slow.

Yeah, no, disabling filters doesn't seem to have any effect, and it's not occurring with just IE. Gotta be a server issue.

Agreed ... the same issue is happening with Mozilla. The site is loading fine, but the message boards are lagging quite a bit.

Until the page loading is fixed, I've discovered a way around it. Click on the page or topic, then immediately click the 'stop' loading button. The page immediately comes up. This also works with the 'back' button. Then hit 'stop'.
Now I don't know it the same technique will work for your computer, it does mine. Might want to give it a try.

You're right. Your strategy works every time...and it's fast. Thanks. It was taking up to a minute for the pages to load on my computer.

The ad service had some bad coding that was slowing everything up. It has been removed from a lot of the site including the Board and all will be gone shortly. Thanks for the heads up and patience!

In the last couple of days, I have noticed that the Jock Talk page doesn't seem to load fully. It's still happening as of now. It's the only problem I've noticed since this thread started.

Jock Talk is one of the pages, along with some others, where our web developer needs to swap out coding. He is working on it today.

I couldn't get onto the discussion boards for several days but the rest of the site was fine. WEIRD!
