The Supreme Court has ruled that the medical procedure commonly called 'partial birth abortion' or d and e should be banned. I won't go into how the procedure is performed. I personally believe that the banning of this rare procedure is an attack on women's rights and women's health. Who are the Supreme Court judges to invade the sancity of a woman's womb? The only dissent on this ruling came from Ruth Bader Ginsberg.

My boyfriend and I got into a rather heated discussion about this yesterday. He's Catholic and is very pro life. I'm Baptist and while I believe that every child should be given the chance to come into this world, it is none of my business to tell some stranger what to do with her body. Furthermore, I think its ridiculous that there is legislation that does so. Ooo it got really ugly. We haven't talked since last night. He'll get over it.

Hell, I grew up Catholic and I am strictly pro-choice for women.

I think that if I were, for some strange reason, to "knock up" or "impregnate" a woman- I would prefer that she keep the child. I would be hurt and against it in my own personal decisions.

But- I think when we see A.I. and all of these children born into extreme poverty and simply no hope- how can I deny this to women?

I would prefer no abortions ever occurred, but I think we have to realize that simply is not possible.... otherwise we will be back to the back alley abortions and a lot of self-abused women.

The far right acts like pro choice people are lining women up to have abortions. We in the progressive community want abortion to be a woman's decision and as rare as possible.
