I've tried to listen to the new podcast but it sends me to a page that says, "The page you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable."

Podcast 8We talked with "Matthew," the coach who went back into the closet. A good discussion.

A note for Jim on Podcast 9:
Major league baseball has 6 divisions, not 4. So either the wild cards stay or two division winners would have to get a bye.

Details! I would go back to 2 divisions per league and a total of 4 playoff teams in all of baseball.

Better yet: Only the league champions make it to the World Series.
For the record, I'll only believe Brady Quinn "plays for our team" if he comes out.

After listening to the latest podcast I'm just wondering if Outsports perhaps shouldn't just shut down for the summer. After all, nothing of importance to them is going on.

You guys mentioned you were going to be having guests. Maybe you should have some more people from the discussion board who aren't quite as bored by Wimbledon (Gaga4Gaby por ejemplo) or the NBA draft (Thomas and Larry sure have alot of knowledgeable things to say on the subject) or even some of the people you profiled during the month of June. I know this isn't the most exciting time of year on the sports calander but there are some things to talk about besides whether Maroney and/or Quinn are gay. WHo are you guys, Perez Hilton?

We have had guests 3 times and want to do it most weeks but we are having a technical problem in recording guests so their answers synch up (there is a lot of overlay for some reason on the recording even though it sounds fine when it's live). Anyone who has an ideas on the best mutli-party recording software for Skype, we would love to hear from you.
And George, once we get it figured out, expect a call!
As for what else is going on, even PTI and today's NYTimes sports section are devoting whole segments/stories to hot-dog eating contests -- even we haven't stooped that low!

On the PC, there is
HotRecorder.
A bit of a weird website, scrolls left to right instead of up and down. Go figure.
If one of you is on a Mac, these two applications purport to record Skype:
Audio Hijack Pro:
SoundflowerThere are a few nice Skype app recording lists for Mac and PC
here and
here.
I also recall a chapter in a book called
Podcasting Hacks that talks about recording Skype, if you’re looking for a more in depth treatment.
If you’re willing to sacrifice a bit of quality there’s always
The Basement Ventures, a nifty free conference call service, that records your calls and lets you download them as MP3s.

Just listened to this week's podcast: Is Ian Thorpe gay?
Nice job, guys. This is my first time checking out the podcast.
Both have good radio voices, and that's no joking allusion to
"a face for radio" so don't even bother with the self-deprecating
humor.
I'm inclined to think that most guys like Ian Thorpe are gay.
But I'm still surprised to hear someone use the "I'm dating them"
pronoun game. Does he live in the 1950's? An out-ish friend
recently referred to his neighbor and some co-worker as "family."
Maybe it's more common but it still sounds dated to me. Or,
perhaps, it's just that any euphemism sort of grates on my
nerves. Just say, "I'm dating him" or "My neighbor is gay" or
"Call me Jano, Grand Gay Duke of Faggotry." Simple & direct.

We certainly have not proof that Thorpe is gay, but the rumors do persist.
I'm glad you like the podcast! Thanks for the kind words.

We have more than enough hatred and discrimination against our community to deal with--like that hateful sniper attack that AFA pulled out on us this past week thanks to some gullible tv stations thinking that just because a program called itself 'christian' it was an ok program. IF you missed it; you can see it on YouTube or silencingchristians.com. This was a very low life cheap shot at our community.
Effeminate men are not necessarily gay. They like Truman Capote probally had few adult men in thier lives to learn male type behaviors. I know serveral heterosexual mne who you were swear were gay because they are so nelly in their behaviors. They have been happily married for years and have a few children to boot.
Even when someone is so effeminate that it makes you cringe--you have no right to discriminate against them. Help them instead. There is an old saying that United We Stand ( in solidarity) but divided we fall"
There are many butch gay people I do not necessarily care for but I do not harrass or discriminate against them and the same goes for effeminate gay people.
Put yourself in thier shoes---how would you feel if people of your own sexual orientation discriminated against you? Would you like it? Certainly not.
In my view to even bring up effeminancy as a justification to critique those in our community is inappropriate and offensive. So lay off and stop being divisive, grow up, accept yourself as a gay person (even if you are in the closet) accept people who are different--after all as a gay man or woman --you are different and a minorty. Closeted Gay people need to be outed when they behave in homophobic ways. Discirminating against somone because they come across as effeminate ---is a form of homophobia. Shame on you if you do. Where is any equality in htis.

Um... Manshaft may be a sex club. "Mannschaft" simply means "team" in German.
And yes, "schwul" means "gay". But why is that needed? If you're asking questions like "bist du schwul?", you're missing out on hitting on all the curious straight boys.
