The global warming debate got a little heated at the White House Correspondents Dinner this weekend, with singer Sheryl Crow and producer Laurie David getting into a heated discussion with the Machiavellian Karl Rove. As I understand it, Crow and David came up to Rove and asked him to reconsider his stance on global warming. Then, Rove took personal offense at their request and said some rather heated things.

Oh, the love that Rove shows to his constituents! rolleyes.gif

Interesting. Why bother? Why so testy with all the other problems he may have?

But then that may be the reason he's starting to freak. He avoided any legal entanglements in the Abramoff affair. Dodged a bullet in the Scooter Libby mess. Maybe the Gonzalez thing is causing him to feel some heat.

He certainly couldn't be honestly heated up about global warming. They can just ignore it, and its advocates, like always.

A guy with his political instincts would smell serious danger long before his boss or Cheney.

Maybe boogeying to hip-hop music won't get him out of this one.

Obstruction of justice isn't political. And that is what appears to have happened in the firing of those attorneys.

Interesting. Veeerry interesting. Still it's his boss who should take the fall. Rove only served his masters, despite everyones view of him as some sort of grand manipulator, I've always thought he was just a puppet.

It's just too bad that Crow had her tiff with Rove the same day that she suggested limitations on how many pieces of toilet paper people should use...She must have read the green issue of Vanity Fair currently on the stands which actually made me consider how much toilet paper one uses, and I promptly decided that I would only buy Seventh Generation paper products...Nevertheless, she's going to be hounded by late night comics over the toilet paper thing for weeks....

I'd actually like to see Laurie David kick Cheney's ass...and then kick Cheney's husband's ass too, you know the Vice President...But it's always going to be an issue when really rich people try and tell everyone how to conserve...Gore's had that issue, and Larry and Laurie David will have that issue, too, regardless of how 'green' they are...

Ms. Crow was merely exercising her American rights. Karl Rove was vicous and mean to the two women. I find it appalling how the U.S. government ignores the opinion of it's citizens and the citizens of the world and fosters an agenda which is destroying the earth's environment.

Sheryl & Karl - A Conversation
or Oh, What a Whacky White House Correspondents Dinner It Was!

Sheryl: Hi, Karl! Is this table Members Only?
Karl: Hello, Shirl. Why am I Always On Your Side at these damn dinners?
Sheryl: Oh, Karl, with your Crash and Burn administration, Everyday is a Winding Road. A Change Would Do You Good.
Karl: Good is Good.
Sheryl: I guess Old Habits Die Hard. But now our planet needs help, and The First Cut is the Deepest.
Karl: I Don't Wanna Know. I guess that's My Favorite Mistake.
Sheryl: C'mon, C'mon. Remember Kyoto?
Karl: Wasn't Steve McQueen in that?
Sheryl: Am I Getting Through?
Karl: Listen, Shirl, the White House Scienticians tell me that Americans love to Soak Up the Sun. It Don't Hurt. Aren't you Strong Enough?
Sheryl: I Can't Cry Anymore. But I'm Anything But Down.
Karl: Look, If It Makes You Happy, All I Wanna Do is eat my steak and go write another Letter to God. Then I'm Leaving Las Vegas.
Sheryl: But this is Washington.
Karl: Oh. There Goes the Neighbourhood!
Sheryl: Yeah, Real Gone. You're An Original, Karl.
Karl: We Do What We Can.
