Manchester United rallied past AC Milan in the first leg of the European Champions League semifinals with Wayne Rooney's two goals for a 3-2 home victory yesterday in extra time.

That is Rooney's fourth goal in his last three Champions League games.

Liverpool is at Chelsea on Wednesday night in the other semifinal. In the second legs of the home-and-home, total-goals series, Liverpool hosts Chelsea on May 1 and AC Milan is at home against Manchester United the following night.

OK - So it's not AMERICAN FOOTBALL - but it grows on you after a while.

We took the train up, not bad 2:15 +/-, roughly on time - though a bit expensive IMO ~ E 340 for 1st Class on VirginRail, but then everything here is expensive; you can pay E 5 just to go one stop on the Tube.

Watching the broadcast here in the states, after Kaka's 2nd goal you would've thought ManU had no chance. The announcers were saying they were done, yet they still had a 2nd half to play and a damn good team to try and equalize the score at least.

Just throwing in my .02

Or in IT Jock's frame of reference - your 2p.

Anyway, even though AC Milan has the away-goal advantage for the match next week at the San Siro, all ManU needs is to win or tie to advance to the finals in Athens. Also, AC Milan can be vulnerable at home as we saw against Bayer Munich in the quarterfinals. As for today's match up in London, Chelsea has a lot of injuries, Ballack & Robben, plus Essien out serving a suspension, but I think they can pull out a nail-bitter at home.

Manchester United moved five points clear in the Premier League title race by scoring four straight goals to beat Everton 4-2 on Saturday as Chelsea drew 2-2 with Bolton.

United has 85 points, followed by Chelsea with 80. The two teams play each other on May 9th.

Already have the tickets, definately plan on going if I am back in time.

I was not happy to get home from class and see ManU down 1 aggregate at the end of the first half. They looked awful the entire second half as well, Milan's formidable counter was too much for them.
