Anybody up for getting together soon for a Sunday of football watching, beer swilling, nacho eating and various other debaucheries? How about Sunday October 2nd? Maybe Barow Street Alehouse? I've not been to GyM Bar so I don't know if we can watch multiple games there. Thoughts?
Kenny
I will be in NJ/NYC for the Jets vs Bucs game Oct. 7-9 and have talked to Scottie about some Sat college watching time if anyone is interested??? wink
BPT-336
FMTN (or GVF if you will wink ) I'm having minor surgery next Thursday, but if I feel up to traveling down on the train I'll be there. Alehouse is fine with me, as I'm not sure where "Gym" bar is either.

Oh... Tice is a Beeotch!!! biggrin.gif
George Twins fan
Yeah I'll go back to my old name once they make him Pork Fried Tice.
Joe in Philly
I'll be flying home from Boston on the 2nd so I can't make it that weekend. The following weekend can work.
phillyrunner
I am better with the following weekend as well if I have to pick one.
George Twins fan
So how about the 9th instead?
Munson Man
I think I can do the 9th.
jerseyguy
Just my luck. I finally get off having to work weekends and figure I'll finally be able to join you guys for an NFL Sunday. But I can't make it on the 9th. sad.gif Any chance there'll another get-together this season?
George Twins fan
Oh sure. We usually get together a couple of times each season.
Joe in Philly
I can make it on the 9th unless the Phillies have a playoff game that day.
George Twins fan
So we'll see you on the 9th then! tongue.gif
Kenny
Figures I will be at the Meadowlands and you guys will be drinking it up a few miles away! rolleyes.gif

Hey guys, Kenny will only be in NY on Saturday October 8th! That is the date to try and meet, not 10/9.
George Twins fan
Well we do it on Sundays so we can watch all the NFL games. Kenny, scalp the tix for the game and hang with us. You'll have way more fun!
Joe in Philly
I could do either Sat. or Sun., though usually (as George, ummm, Mr. Tice wink said) we prefer to watch the NFL games.

What happened to hotel rates in NYC? Other times when I decided to go up there for a short stay I found some decent rates, but I was looking around just now and -- yikes!
phillyrunner
Kenny the Jets-Bucs game is at 1:00pm Sunday, you can still meet up for the later games (after 4pm)in the city. Last time I was there it was pretty much an all day affair.
Cyd at Outsports
Damn it. I'll be in San Diego on the 8th. Wish I could join you all!! Gym is a good place to watch the games, though they won't put the volume on.

Thanks PR, yeah I wish I could. Sucks, I coult not take Monday off, so my flight it out of Newark at 6:25 right after the game. Hell, I might be pushing it now to make it to the airport in time. I might try to come up later in the year again, as I have friends to visit anytime I want to come up. Have fun!

I shall try to make it on the 9th. I'm not sure if my nephew's birthday party will be then or not. Should be able to find that out soon, so just pencil me in for now. smile.gif
Cattledog
I will be in town between Oct. 06 and 16. Of course, the Yankees playoff schedule will determine my football watching. However, even if by some chance the Yankees would be playing during the NFL games, I am sure they would have at least one television for that, right?

Oh... and Pat125 is unfortunately going to be there, too rolleyes.gif .

That's now a definite, I'm in. Have we decided which place we're meeting at?
George Twins fan
Okay so next Sunday October 9th. I say Barrow Street Ale House again. They've got food, all the games and I can enjoy it because the Vikes have a bye!
Munson Man
Unfortunately, the Giants also have a bye week. I say unfortunately because young Eli is really coming into his own as an NFL QB - you see the improvement from one week to the next now. I'm fine with Barrow Street. The Jet-Buccaneer game is at 1:00, although with Pennington out that it'll probably be another snoozefest like yesterday's game was. If the Yankees and Angels are playing a Game Five it likely would not be until 8:00.

So what time is everyone arriving for Sunday's festivus? I'm planning on getting to Barrow Street around 12:30. I'll save the spots for the rest of ya'll, but how many of us will there be? I haven't been keeping count.
Cattledog
Pat125 and I can make there at 12.30 p.m. as well. By the way, Pat's the Jets fan and I am the Dolphins fan--so we don't like each others teams. We only agree on the Yankees!

I'm a tentative yes...I might have a nephew's birthday party to go to on Sunday.
George Twins fan
Okay so who all is in. So far I've got Pat125, Cattledog, BPT and myself with JIP a tentative.

MunsonMan? Anybody else?
phillyrunner
I hope to arrive sometime around 2pm or so.
Munson Man
I'm in. See you all then.
Joe in Philly
Sorry, I won't be there after all. My nephew's birthday party is tomorrow after all. At 4 pm. Just as the Eagles game starts. Next week's a bye week. Why not have the party then? wink
George Twins fan
Unless your nephew has some of-age hot friends, why not watch football with us instead? tongue.gif We'll miss you Joe, but next time!
Joe in Philly
He's nowhere near of age, nor are his friends. wink Sigh...I was looking forward to this. Anyone wanna do it again next weekend?
BPT-336
It was great seeing everyone again!! Am I supposed to be the one posting the blond items from the event??? tongue.gif
Joe in Philly
Come on, dish the dirt! All of it!
BPT-336
Joe, I'm not sure I'm allowed. And after my "blond items" above... rolleyes.gif ohmy.gif I'm not sure I want to. tongue.gif

Really fun time! The games were kind of a bust, but we still managed to have alot of laughs and alot of beer. Great to see Pat, Cattledog, MunsonMan, BPT and Phillyrunner again and we will definitely do it again soon!
stinger85
GVF (you'll always be that to me), BPT, and Phillyrunner...thanks for calling. It was great talking to you guys. PF and I were asking Cyd about you GVF. I was at the SD field and cell reception was spotty. I walked to a bad part of the field and lost the call. It would have been nice to talk to Cattledog and Pat.

GVF, I may hold you to your Parking Lot Bowl II committment!!
George Twins fan
Here I was enjoying playing the martyr by claiming you hung up on me! tongue.gif

Anyway I will give serious thought to coming out for the game. Christmas in the desert! Aaaah!

Whenever i see that GVF, I often feel like hanging up.. or is it throwing up?

Considering how many beers you make me buy you, it's no wonder you're throwing up.

Or does the memory of all by passes going over your head and into Sting's hands make you nauseous?

Cattledog and I had a great time yesterday. Of course, the biggest surprise was seeing the Jets win a game, despite trying their best to blow it at the end of the game. Looking forward to the next get together.
